RE: Road Trip To Marciac, France

in Worldmappin3 years ago

BMW behind us trying to overtake while we drove at walking speed, and even reversed because we "missed the right shot

Haha, that is funny 😅
I can imagine what was he thinking...

Taking photos from the car is never the same as when you stop and rest. Good you were stopping.

Having a RV is great. @amico could confirm you jejeje 😇

Apparently you needed to have a "passe sanitaire"

Well, those are some of the charms of this summer :D

You went pretty much everywhere this summer I forgot hahaha.

@amico where is you RV?

Thanks for the mention, dear @mipiano!

Last month, we travelled about 7000 km around France, but I don't recognise the lake in the photo - maybe we weren't there? In ten days, we well survived requests for sanitaire passes: we showed our negative test certificates and always got away with it.Hey @edprivat, gongrats: great shots!

I understand that you got your driving licence after so many years of living in Paris: as in so many big cities - well served by public transport and with few parking spaces - a car is just a nuisance!

A huge hug from Italy! 🤗 (and, of course, a slice of Italian 🍕 !PIZZA and some German !BEER 🍻)

Thanks for the awesome comment!

The lake is a small one next to Marciac, I will look out the name for you 😀

Good to know. There are plenty of places where they used to ask for it, but now don't even bother checking the passes.

Did you enjoy travelling in a RV? Was it a rental?

a car is just a nuisance

Yes it is, and I also don't trust them as ridiculous as it sounds hahaha.

Ah no, last time we didn't go that far south: we reached Lyon and then wandered north...

Yes, we are enjoying life more and more by travelling in a RV (purchased thanks to a BTC sale at its peak): it gives us great freedom, not having to decide beforehand where to sleep or where to eat.

France, moreover, is well equipped to accommodate this type of tourism and the roads are really spectacular, both for the practicability and for the pleasantness of the landscape!

The further South you go, the better it is 😄

Don't worry, you don't have to justify the purchase, I think it's a very smart decision, and would probably do the same. Nice one selling ur BTC at right timing haha. I feel that it's never the right timing, even at the top!

In Italy it's the same type or roads and all, right?

Ahhahhah, is this a joke, after reading about the endless queues on the motorway, due to the many roadworks taking place, reported by @mipiano in her travel reports?

The road network in France is much denser than in Italy.
In addition, France has a much larger number of RV parks, which are often free or cheap, than Italy.

hahhahaha, lavori, lavori.... all the time 🤣

I think you are just being overly dramatic, it looks very efficient, look:

Of course, but you have to deal with the Frenchs 😀, that's probably the worst thing about France.
