I'm lost in
Istanbul(I'm lost inIstanbul, I'm lost inIstanbul)
Ooh, na, na, ooh, na, na
Do you know that song? Lost in Istanbul? π΅ If you dont, check it out. :p
Well, I was lost too! Not in Istanbul, but in Sibiu, Romania, for an entire weekend. ππ
Overall, it was a lovely time spent here just before the Holidays.
And because it was so relaxing and worries free, I kept singing I'm lost in Sibiu oh na na na. This was the vibe I have had the entire time. ππΆ
Maybe because of @gabrielatravels, some of you are more familiar with our Romanian town Sibiu. She has shared quite a few posts about this beautiful city located in Transylvania, Romania.
I don't have a lot of photos taken around the city to share with you, but I did a few here and then.
We mostly spent time on the hotel, restaurants, caffees and ofc, the Old Town Square in the City Center where the Christmas Fair is located this time of the year.
Christmas Market in Sibiu
I could be wrong, but apparently, the Christmas Fair in Sibiu is one of the very first Christmas Markets organized in our country; and they wanted it to bring like those from Western Europe. That festive vibe! Maybe you already know that in Europe, around Christmas, there are held a lot of Christmas Fairs in the big European cities. And actually I visited some like: Prague, Warsaw, Krakow, Wien, Budapest, Ljublijana, Bratislava, Budapest, Zagreb.
In my opinion, Christmas Market in Sibiu wasn't something out of spectacular; it was all right, to say so. It couldnt be great compared with what I already saw in Europe, so maybe I'm a bit subjective here. I'm sorry, but you just can't compare the Christmas Market in Sibiu with the one in Wien or Prague. π
But it doesnt matter how the Christmas Market really was. Not for us! It was just what we needed for having a beautiful weekend. And plus, maybe you, if visitied, would consider it to be fine.
Anyways, we came in Sibiu to meet our friends from Constanta and have a lovely couple of days together, as always.π And because I couldn't travel too long from home, we chose Sibiu, (which, still...is 3 hrs drive and 300 km+) π.
We've had mulled wine, baked chestnuts on charcoal, hot chocolate, caramelized nuts and almonds.
There weren't too many food options, other than baked sweets, artizanal chocolate and sweets, waffles, crepes, hot drinks.
But we weren't interested in food anyways, because we had some restaurants in mind to go at.
The city is pretty clean, beautiful, with its specific "vibe", as usual.
Now I'm sorry I didnt take too many photos when taking our daily stroll. But I felt I just dont have the energy to do it. Some buildings and streets are decorated in the festive mood. Some of them were really cute!
Eating out is our thing
We love to eat! Thats for sure! We all enjoy spending two hours at a restaurant, serving good food, talking and sharing moments together, in a comfortable space, around the table.
(Although, I must tell, we and our friends have the best time together in the hotel room, where loud laughs are heard and a lot of jokes and gossip are shared;)
What you see in the images down bellow is part of what we had:
- bone marrow served with chilly and toasted bread
- roasted peppers with burrata on top served also with bread
This was an entre at a restaurant called La Cuptor, in Sibiu.
Here's my comfort food, a beef vegetable soup, served at Casa Frieda.
And here is an Oxtail Soup and Beef Cheeks in peach sauce on mashed potatoes, served at Jar's Steak & Spritz.
LAZY
Just to be clear, I felt really L.A.Z.Y this specific time here. I have had enough time to just be on myself, to sleep in, to relax. So the time I stayed in bed doing nothing was 100% what I needed. I full recharged my batteries, cause what's coming for me won't be...same as relaxing π.
We stayed at Hermanns Hotel & Spa, a cozy hotel having a little spa. I liked it and I felt very comfortable in our room. The room was big, spacious and it feel cozy.
The breakfast wasn't too varied, but everyone could chose something.
We stayed every morning at the table, enjoying our morning together along with a cup of coffee and good vibes.
Me in front of the hotel :))
Also, me and @pinkwizz even went for shopping, Christmas decorations more precisely. That's the spirit right? ππ
After two days and a half, we were ready to go home.
This was 100% last weekend escape of this year.
I thought that the last one would be the one in which I went to Maramures, but I couldn't give in to the opportunity and the desire to spend some more relaxing time before the big change that awaits me, until the end of the year. haha
Can you guess which is? π€ͺπ
Love, missdeli

Well, the clock is ticking, ticking, ticking... and the time will come for the big change. You made a good choice for relaxation in Sibiu and I'm glad to see that you really relaxed. I wish you a very easy transition from the big change to the new reality and to enjoy your new life, because it will change a little, as you well know.
Sibiu is my favorite city in Romania and I'm sorry you didn't notice this, I have (haha, pride, what can I say) a few posts too, two recently and I'm indicating them here because they are about something you haven't seen... and it wasn't even recommended for your recent trip, but it's a place not to be missed in better conditions. Astra Museum: Astra Museum Sibiu and Young And Free
Yes, the clock is ticking very very loud, one week away! ππ
Thank you very much, I also hope to "live" a smooth transition into the new formula.
I actually saw the Young and Free post, even read it in a hurry π« and about Astra Museum, I have visited it in 2021. Beutiful place, nice to be here in Spring or early June, when its not too hot.
I didnt know Sibiu its your fav city in Romania. The reason I mentioned Gabriela is because she's living here and I remember many of her festival posts from Sibiu and some others.
Now that you mentioned...I realize I dont have a fav city in Romania. Not just yet. I still have a few to visit..I mean the big ones.
One week! You must be looking forward to seeing who comes into your family. I wish you both well and healthy, otherwise time does it all. A different life to which I know you will adapt quickly.
Good health and joy!

Beautiful place, excellent publication. β¨οΈ
Thank you π
I still feel sorry not to get to finally meet you IRL and show you around but I am sure we will have better opportunities to enjoy even more time together in the future when things are a bit more chill on both ends β€οΈ
It also might sound funny, but I still haven't reached the center of the town, lol! This could happen later today or tomorrow as I have some business to do around that part of the town and might take advantage of this thing to finally have a quick look around. Hope you are fine! π
Dont even mention it! It will be a next time, someday in the future! And we'll make sure to fully enjoy it! π
Funny thing is that I went only once to our Christmas Market in town, with and for Caleb. π
And same last year. I wonder why we dont make time or dont find interestint whats happening in our area. π
The truth is our local Christmas Fair is...apa de ploaie πππ€£. You go only if around and just to say u went outdoors for a bit. Nothing special.
But in the present, I will try to go once again until next week, for Caleb. I think he wants to go again π.
Yes, I am fine. Next week its THAT time! π¬ππ₯Ή
Awww!! Send me news, whenever you have time after you pass that moment. I want to make sure you are well β€οΈ
Now we know about this place. All your photos are pretty, as well as the Christmas decorations.
With the food and the hotel, it was such an ultimate retreat!

Definitely such a well enjoyed retreat! π
Christmas decorations and markets make me want to visit somedayβmaybe even try that bone marrow dish (if Iβm brave enough π)
The marrow dish is known to be very healthy because it has collagen and some other healthy compounds.
Its not much since we started serving it in restaurants. π
You have managed to capture these beautiful moments very well, and the pictures you have provided also look very beautiful and meaningful, have a nice day.
Thank you very much, appreciate it. π

Wow - amazing!
!PIZZA
