Quarantined for 14 days at the Raden Sadjad Ranai Airport Hangar, Natuna Regency, Riau Islands
We are about 238 people, most of us are students (including myself), we were sent home from Wuhan because of the Covid-19 outbreak. We are grateful because none of us have contracted Covid-19, even so we have to follow the protocol to be quarantined for 14 days at Natuna, the base of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU).
We landed safely from Wuhan to Natuna, when we got off the plane it felt like we were baptized, we were sprayed with liquid. Have you been quarantined because of Covid-19? At this military base everything is going well, the soldiers are very friendly and kind to us, even though there are people who don't make it easier for us to be here, out there they are demonstrating because they don't want to accept us. Maybe the demonstrators thought we were a disease, that's why they didn't want to accept us here. For the first time we felt hostile towards our native people at that time.
Our health and physical condition are routinely checked inside the military base by TNI doctors. We are directed to exercise every morning. In the morning after prayer, we are taught to practice breathing, similar to yoga, then we doing any other exercise we like. During those 14 days, to drive boredom and excess, we played cards. The sky view was so beautiful, we suspected that outside this military base there was a beautiful natural view, but we couldn't get there. After 14 days we were at this base, we were sent home to our homes, then we went into self-quarantine for 14 days at home, really boring and annoying.
