If you like to escape from the hot summer weather, Tinikaran Pgymgy Springs is surely one of the most ideal getaways!
Mati City is not only known for its beautiful beaches but also for its highland springs. An hour and a half drive from the City proper, you can reach this magnificent place of cool waters and nature experience.
Last April 21, during the holiday in the Philippines we explored the Tinikaran Pygmy Springs specifically the Darrport Campsite. It was a family and office mates day! Upon arrival, our kids immediately dip into the cool waters. They were very happy swimming, gathering stones, and putting water in plastic glasses.
Even though the weather is hot, the water is cold and very refreshing. The place is so calming, you can only hear the gentle sound of the water of the spring and the chirping of the birds.
The place is surrounded by pygmy trees - definitely, the reason why it is called pygmy springs.
I like the exclusive feel of the place we stayed. We cook our food on this side. There is a place for grilling and you can also cook other dishes.
The place is also the best place for aesthetic pictorials. My husband's officemates have a pictorial.
Well, that's our food for lunch. Grilled pork, and fish with a mix of steamed siomai. I can still remember the appetite I had for that day! Good food was enjoyed with good friends.
The kid's swimming time lasted until early afternoon. They were happily playing with other kids. I did not worry because the water is not deep and they were just in my sight from this platform.

The owner purposely created a platform where visitors can stay and set up tables, or tents.
We spent the afternoon chitchatting with each other, sleeping in an inflatable bed with the kids, taking pictures of nature and relaxing without minding the time.
It's now getting dark, we need to go home. Here's the roadside. You can really see the mountain at the back and the bunch of trees. Indeed, a wonderful place!
This experience is really one of the most relaxing days of my life. I was able to enjoy nature at its best with the family. Before I end up, I'm leaving more photos for you to appreciate the Tinikaran Pgymy Springs more!
