Hi everyone, how are you today? Have you traveled in these few days of Tet yet? If not, I will take you to visit a famous pagoda in An Giang. The pagoda is called Van Linh. The pagoda is located on Cam mountain in Tinh Bien district of An Giang province. The height of the pagoda above sea level is 600 meters. The pagoda is a top place to attract visitors and worship when it comes to holidays.
The pagoda is under construction, so the pagoda was closed for a period of time not allowing visitors to enter. I was lucky to go on the day the pagoda opened so I can enter the pagoda to visit this place. The pagoda gate is designed with delicate carvings with parallel sentences on both sides. On both sides of the entrance are statues of two ferocious lions, a symbol of protection for the peaceful pagoda. From a distance, the pagoda looks very beautiful, majestic and magnificent. The pagoda was built with modern architecture with the main color being yellow, creating the luxury of the pagoda.
The pagoda has many delicate carving patterns, beautifully designed spirit animals, they are like guardians for the peaceful pagoda. Like the general architecture of the pagoda, the summoned beasts are covered with a layer of yellow paint that looks very luxurious. Animals like dragons or lions are symbols of strength and courage. This also symbolizes Van Linh pagoda because it has gone through many difficulties to become one of the pagodas with the most history in Vietnam.
The pagoda stands out with many Buddha statues. But for me, the statues of the little monks impressed me the most. The statues depict the daily activities of the monks. Which is eating, sleeping, studying, reading, carrying water, meditating,... The little monks are very industrious and hardworking. These monk statues are very elaborately carved, you can see the expressions on the little monks' faces. They look very cute and are always happy in their daily activities.
The pagoda is very large, in addition to the main place of worship, the ancestral tower, stupa, and bell tower, the pagoda also has many other works. Behind the pagoda is an artificial mountain, neatly trimmed. This place is symbolically designed as a place of practice for bodhisattvas. There are many Buddha statues here, they are arranged on both sides of the path. This place is also the place where the reclining bodhisattva statue is located, a famous symbol of the Van Linh pagoda when someone mentions it. To the right of the mountain is Vong Phu Thi tower, where a large bell is placed and the pagoda's place of worship.
The pagoda has a lot of big green trees that create shade for the whole pagoda. The trees are almost as tall as the tower. Have you seen the movie The Legend Of Nezha? From a distance, the pagoda resembles the spire of Father Nezha. The pagoda is very shimmering and fanciful at night. This place is also a favorite place for young people to take photos and post artistic photos on social networks. Van Linh Pagoda is also a place where people often come to worship when the holidays come.
