If you hike alone, it would be a little difficult for you to find the entrance of the Nature Trail of Nagarkot! The main road is being constructed to make it wider and better; as per our tour guide, several hotels and homes that were vanished, and many were destroyed during the great earthquake that happened in May 2015. There is a little sign of the trail's entrance.
We found the map of Natural Trails and the Panoramic Hiking trail on the right opposite the Nature Trail when you stand facing the trail mouth; to be bit-exact it would be 20 meters uphill on the right.
My recommendation to the Nepali authority is to provide very good signs in English and a map of each tourist zone! It could be very good who want to explore by themselves.
After bit research I have found more information for you, it's Elevation Gain cited as 201m and length 4.5km as per alltrails
We have started the journey around 9:35 am; and we expected to finish it slowly Our tour guide seems in a hurry to finish the 2.5 km trail!
So we have asked him to slow down and let us enjoy the jungle, birds song, and the Nature Trails. The path has ups and downs and there are stone-made stairs for the travelers which makes the hiling very easy for most age groups.
There are many waterways we have seen coming from the hills, which might become waterfalls during the rainy seasons of the region.
There are thousands of trees we have gone through and are amazed afterward! We were actually in the deep hills! As per Google Maps, it was deep, actually!
We ended the trail close to a road that comes from the bottom hill and goes up. I thought we would go down instead of our guide to show the path upwards. This is the end of Nature Trail, but our walk has not yet been done.
I walk to the road, the upward one at the turn I have found a beautiful valley from the hill, amazing! I have taken a few long breaths as the air seems to be the cleanest one. I asked my mates to carry on the hiking and stayed there for a few minutes.
The Nature Walk Trails ended when I found the Nagorkot just 3km away. I wish the weather was clear to get the view of amazing mountain ranges away from us.
It took about 1.2 hours of slow hiking as we stopped at several places to watch flowers, listen to unknown birds singing, and of course picture breaks!
Two professional hikers passed us in the middle, and I guess they finished it within 'no time'!
It was exciting to walk through the deep jungle of the Nagarkot nature trail. Soon we will go to the Panoramic View of the next trail, that is another story & will try to bring it for you soon.
