Spending spree? Oh Lordy! We're flying in to Osaka as the only purpose of the trip is to visit Shirakawa-go to see the beautiful village in the snow. There'll be plenty of spending beforehand on winter clothes and multiple warm coats for the wife so she doesn't appear in the same clothes twice in her selfies!
Being a city boy at heart, I'd have preferred a five-star in Tokyo but you can't win 'em all any ;-)
