Visiting "Breksi Cliff" Yogyakarta, Cliff with Ancient Sculptures

in Worldmappin3 years ago (edited)

Hi Hivers! How's Life Going? today I traveled to the Breksi cliff which is located on the village road Lengkong, Gunung Sari, Sambirejo, Prambanan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Breksi Cliff is a cliff that was originally a mining cliff, but after it was no longer used for mining, then this place was opened to become a beautiful tourist spot. Initially the people around this cliff often exposed the beauty of the scenery on the Breksi cliff, but then the government changed it to be beautiful and feasible and safe to open in general as a tourist spot and is known today as the Breksi Cliff. The area of the Breksi cliff is 30 meters, the giant limestone rocks on this cliff are carved into dragon sculptures and crowns then there are sculptures with puppet stories, all of these sculptures are the result of the creativity of local youth, and the results are similar to the cliffs of heritage history in Europe. In addition, the youths also build stairs so that tourists can climb safely in this Breksi cliff area. Then in this Breksi cliff there is also a Seneng Tlatar and an Amphitheater which are commonly used today for events. This Seneng setting was built to resemble the Classical Greek era.

There are several interesting things that can be seen when traveling to the cliffs of Breksi:

Photo Object with owl

Beside the entrance of the stairs, we will meet the object of the photo with an owl that is being tame, this is an interesting thing. Where tourists can hold this owl or put it on the shoulder freely.

Tlatar Seneng

Tlatar Seneng is built and surrounded by green grass and green water fish ponds with a variety of koi fish in it, in Tlatar Seneng this can be used for dramakalization, or events with appearances, when we set foot on Tlatar Seneng and look around this cliff, like feeling there in ancient times.

On the road east of the Breksi cliff, there are lots of culinary or food vendors who have many menus such as tongseng, rica-rica, and soto. Among these menus, there is a very popular menu, namely chicken ingkung, variations of this atam ingkung there are geprek or penyet, and there are also other menus such as grilled fish, so tourists don't have to worry when visiting this place when hungry, because a lot of culinary and food provided here.

However, among some of the interesting things above, what is iconic about this place is the photo beside the dragon sculpture with its crown, because the photo scenery here is very beautiful, we can see the extraordinary creativity of local youth who have carved dragon sculptures and their crowns.

Visiting this place is a very interesting thing for me, not only the beautiful sculptures, but the amazing food and scenery in this tourist spot.
