Saludos amigos de Worldmappin🌻🍀
Hace unos días estuve en esta comunidad hablándoles de mi paseo por el Casco Histórico de La Habana.
Sabían ustedes que el nombre de la ciudad en hebreo significa comprensión, pues así es. Y me pregunto cómo no comprenderla si tiene momentos en que se agrieta, pierde luz, y parpadea. Cómo no bendecirla, si el Cristo desde lo alto la admira, y cómo no amarla si la llevamos dentro.
Caminar sus calles me llena de vida. Siento que respiro otro aire, como si entrara en una metamorfosis. Alejándome de la realidad del día a día, que en ocasiones abruma. Y es que entrelaza la paleta de colores entre el azul del mar, y el verde de sus árboles con ese estilo barroco que me fascina.
En el post anterior llegamos hasta la Plaza de la Catedral, justo ahí me detuve para beber agua de coco y saciar la sed. A su mano izquierda aprecié el Palacio del Conde de Lombillo.
PALACIO DEL CONDE DE LOMBILLO
Esta edificación fue habitada siglos atrás por la familia Pedroso. Adquirió el nombre al contraer nupcias una descendiente con José Lombillo.
En el frente de la construcción, apoyándose en una de las columnas se erige una estatua en bronce, que corresponde a la figura del fallecido bailarín, y coreógrafo español Antonio Gades. Su ultima voluntad fue, que sus cenizas fueran traídas a Cuba. Tierra que amó y por la cual expresó:
…Es el puerto de mi vida…
Actualmente es sede de la Oficina del Historiador de La Habana.
Seguí camino hasta la calle Obispo, para descansar en los bancos de la Plaza de Armas bajo la sombra de los árboles.
CALLE OBISPO
Este recorrido me trae gratos recuerdos de mi juventud. Cerca de aquí, en la calle Amargura y Mercaderes me hice una profesional de las finanzas, actividad que hasta hoy ejerzo.
En la propia calle Obispo merendaba. A veces, entraba a la casa de la natilla, disfrutaba su variedad de sabores y las diferentes especialidades, entre ellas merengada, y al caramelo. Era imposible privarse de degustarla, tenían toda la exquisitez que poseen los dulces.
O iba al café de la esquina, donde vendían unos pasteles de carne exquisitos, y para calmar la sed entraba a La Tinaja, donde podía beber agua. Estos tres comercios estaban uno al lado del otro.
Y volviendo a nuestro recorrido, llegamos a la Plaza de Armas. En su centro se ubica la estatua de Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, el Padre de la Patria.
PLAZA DE ARMAS
Muchas personas, entre ellos los enamorados se sientan a tomar el fresco de la mañana, a leer un libro, o simplemente conversan. Es un lugar agradable con hermosas vistas, donde actualmente se realizan ventas de libros.
A su alrededor existen muchos lugares para visitar, entre ellos el Museo de la Ciudad, antiguo Palacio de los Capitanes Generales.
PALACIO DE LOS CAPITANES GENERALES
Este palacio construido en la década de 1770, con una arquitectura barroca, muestra a su entrada una estatua del fallecido historiador de la ciudad Eusebio Leal Spengler. Hombre que dedicó su vida a la rehabilitación, y conservación de cada rincón de ella. .
En él, se conserva el mobiliario de la época, y sus carruajes de caballos, además de una exposición fotográfica. En su patio interior exhibe una estatua de Cristóbal Colón, el gran descubridor de nuestra América.

This building was inhabited centuries ago by the Pedroso family.He acquired the name by contracting nuptials a descendant with José Lombillo.
