Les contaré sobre mi subida a la colina donde está enclavada la Fortaleza San Carlos de la Cabaña.
Está fortificación atesora la historia. Desde sus muros y fosos se defendió la Ciudad y el puerto, de los ataques enemigos, incluyendo a corsarios y piratas.
Aunque por estos días acontece la Feria Internacional del Libro de La Habana y mi hobby es leer, hacer literatura, decidí ir a comer al pie de La Cabaña en un restaurante que hacía unos días me habían recomendado.
A su entrada tropecé con la tarja:
Un ambiente agradable, con vista al mar. Ese mar que me atrapa y me inspira.
No se si a ustedes les pasará igual, pero llevar la vista hacia el horizonte, es como si renaciera, me purifica, me da aliento.
Explicaba la guía del lugar, que el mismo fue construido en 1726. Era una batería de cañones, que formaban parte de la defensa de la Villa San Cristóbal de La Habana. Todavía hoy se mantienen sus doce réplicas.
El restaurante se inauguró en 1989. Las losas de su piso fueron rescatadas por buzos. Llevaban un siglo bajo el fondo de la bahía. Correspondían al barco velero español Pecio San Antonio, que fue hundido por esa época. Al escucharlo quedé fascinada. Sus techos de madera y teja, hacen que conserve un estilo colonial. A mí en lo particular este tipo de arquitectura me apasiona, es como si viajara al pasado.
A pesar de ser febrero, el calor sofocante de la tarde me motivó a disfrutar de un refrescante daiquiri. Existe un bar, pero preferí disfrutarlo al aire libre, para extasiar mis ojos en este lugar, realmente mágico.
Pase horas y horas disfrutando del paisaje, pero no les mentiré, me acompañaron unas cuantas cervezas.
Yo que soy habanera, reconozco que es el mejor lugar para observar el encanto de la ciudad, sus plazas, su catedral, sus luces.
Es esta la ciudad que me cautiva, y a la cual le he escrito varios poemas. Y no me vayan a decir, que como soy poeta todo me ilusiona, y me inspira.
Miro como su bahía , es ese espejo donde se mira la luna. Realmente respiro y el olor a salitre me envuelve, se multiplica.
Escuchaba ya los acordes de un conjunto musical, cuando decidí sentarme para la cena. Aquí podía disfrutar de un cóctel, y hasta de un buen vino, pero en esta ocasión me incliné por otra cerveza.
La estancia me transportaba, me hizo recordar mi época de juventud.
La cena una delicia, como entrante una crema de espárragos, luego arroz moro, royo de cerdo, y ensalada de zanahoria, de postre flan, y una bola de helado. Para terminar un café. El servicio de excelencia.
Exactamente a las 9.00 pm escuché el cañonazo, ese que en otra época comunicaba el cierre de los portones de la muralla de la ciudad. Parecía como si me alertara que era hora del regreso a casa.
Fue un día inolvidable, y segura estoy que volveré.
