Home to many community events like the annual Gold Coast marathon start/finish and the 2018 Commonwealth Games Swimming Events.
It was also the perfect spot for a long slow run with a few photo stops on a fresh winter morning. Cold in the shade but beautiful in the rising sun. We often visit the area as it is an easy 1 hour drive straight down the M1 motorway from Brisbane just make sure you avoid the peak hour traffic.
The Gold Coast always makes me feel like I am on holidays even if it's only for a couple of hours. As a youngster my family would save up and once a year in the usually in the winter, travel up from cold Melbourne and spend some of the school holidays in what felt like paradise.
No much wind about made for very glassy conditions on the water.
I have never been here at night but I bet it gets busy.
kayaks, canoes and dragon boats are very popular in this area.
Good to see a bit of green around in this concrete jungle

Gold Coast Aqua park usually home to a big inflatable ninja style obstacle course but all packed up and closed for the winter.
After a bit of a gloomy start to winter it was great to see a big blue sky again.
