Uncovering the spirits Attenuation Welll in Badagry Lagos state Nigeria, this well is approximately built sometimes 160 yerars ago during the slave trade era, The well is located on the western part of the countryside. Nigeria
Spirit Attenuation Well Original Slave Route, Badagry is located at Original slave route some kilometres away from the Lagoon, journey to the unknown Destination. It is believable that All the slaves were made to drink from it. Due to the evidences and the remains of this well . After that, the slaves lost all the memory of their origin. It is also said that, the water from this took away all the consciousness of the slaves immediately they drink from it, and they were easily controlled this way. This is why till today people call it ‘Well of Memory Loss’. This Well has contributed Substantially in the Success of the Slave trade businesses and easy transportation of the slaves to the unknown destination.

From the well, they were taken on the coast, loaded on ships like unuseful elements and taken away.

Due to lack of maintenance and proper care, the well is not in a good condition although its not in use of any form because of its magical powers. it's only used for tourism's exploration since the end of the slave era up to this day below is an original remains of the current look of the Attenuation Well.

It is interesting to know that the Attenuation Well and the original slave route also contributed essentially in the planting of Christianity in west Africa and Nigeria. According to Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther. Some of the slaves who's ships were sent or turned back at serria leone and settled in Freetown, were able to trace back their original place of birth.

This happened after some of the slaves accepted Christianity, a very good example is Samuel Ajayi crowther alongside some of the explorers visited west Africa and they got to the point of no return and the original slave route. On getting to this location they remembered that this was the exact location they were loaded on ships to their unknown destination.

This discovery led to the retun of about 450 slaves from Serria Leone to badagry and thousands of slaves to Abeokuta. So in essence the attenuation Well alongside the Oringal slave route and the Point of No return, Contributed substantially to the planting of Christianity in Nigeria.

We can therefore conclude that Thomas Freeman, Henry Townsend, Samuel Ajayi crowther and some other explorers were further able to extend their missionary journey through this discovery.

Some historical records claim that Freeman and Townsend Celebrated the first Christmas in Badagry, Under a Tree named "Agiya" at a spot very close to the slave route.

Thsnks to the Attenuation Well for its contributions to the planting of Christianity in Nigeria, a big Thanks to the Badgry Local government for its substantial contributions to this locations, allowing explorers of this Generation have access to the Original Slave Route and the attenuation Well.
