Travel Journal: Austin, Texas (USA) – Round Rock, The Lodge Poker Club and More Food

in Worldmappin2 years ago

The next day, I left to my Airbnb at Round Rock. Basically, it is still within Austin, however, it is a little outside of the city center. I stayed at an Airbnb, but I did not take any photos. My room and the host were amazing though! I will post a link and my rating on Airbnb.

"J.D. was a perfect host. It is not a hotel room, but it is everything that Airbnb is about: Being a guest to a private home. J.D. was very welcoming, and it was like visiting a friend you have not met before. He also knows a lot about the city and was always there for information and recommendations. Everything was clean and very comfy as well. The next time going to Austin, I will book this room again. Thank you, J.D.!"

I started the day with a late breakfast at “First Watch” and decided to order French Toasts and a juice. It was a great place and it is always busy. I went there a few more times. I also added a photo of the Eggs Benedict right here:

Afterwards, I went to check out The Lodge Poker Club for a little bit. It is a great location, and the people are very friendly. I played several tournaments during my stay at Round Rock. Here are my first impressions:

Since I was there a little too early for the tournament, I decided to take a walk to Downtown Round Rock. It is the most beautiful smaller town I have ever seen in the US so far. Especially, they still had the Christmas lights hanging and it started to get dark. Check out my photos:

Round Rock is famous for there donuts as well. The Store was basically founded in 1926, when it was called Lone Star Bakery.

After I returned to The Lodge, I got myself a cold beer and played the nightly tournament. I also met one of the owners of The Lodge. Brad Owen is a great guy, and he is known for his Vlogs on YouTube.
