RE: Let's travel together #325 - Torcello (The story of an almost forgotten island)

I loved this travel report. I was there earlier this year and the truth is that I felt a lot of what you describe here, it has a totally different vibe but it catches you quickly.

It was my favorite island of all, I was fantasizing all the time about living there hahaha although the truth is that due to time I couldn't stay there for a long time.

For your peace of mind, in tourist season many more people go to visit it, the first restaurant on the road has a huge terrace where many people go to sit and have a drink quietly. The highest peak is at lunch time, more or less when I got there. The museum was open but I couldn't go in either, but I bought some handmade earrings in some stalls they set up there, but well, it was a saturday in the high season. I have to write about it xD I just don't have enough time.

Although I think this more solitary visit of yours was very worthwhile, because I didn't get to see the statue courtyard and it was impossible to get a picture on the bridge, there were so many people wanting to take that shot. Yours are beautiful because there are almost no people around to be seen. Great pictures!

First, I'm happy to hear that. It surely makes me excited to hear that more tourists are visiting this island than I thought. And indeed, it was my favourite too because it felt closer to what I usually like to see without running in lots of people, lol.

The courtyard with statues was just on the left of the "pool" in front of the church. 😁

Yes, it is a relief that tourism supports this lovely island, I want to go back and enjoy it some more. It's a pity to think about the things you say about the imminent flooding of these places, it's the kind of thing we have to deal with, but what a thing!
