Hi everybody. Last year, I went to Poso. One day, I lived in Palu. I used the remaining day to tour Palu City. In Palu, I took the time to go to the Peace of Gong. In Indonesia, there are quite a lot of Peace Gongs. Palu City is one of them. The Peace Gong has become a public icon as well.
FYI, I visited this very briefly. This place is not far from the City Center of Palu. The place is a little hot. The entrance ticket price is not less than IDR 10,000 per person. The city of Palu is very unique, I can see mountains and beaches at the same time. OK, back to the Peace Gong again.
The Peace Gong was inaugurated in March 2014. Apart from the Peace Gong, there is also the Nosarara Nosabatutu Monument. The two of them are brothers and united. The word Nosarara Nosabatutu is the motto of the Kaili tribe, which is a tribe from Central Sulawesi. The first thing I visited was the Nosarara Nosabatutu Monument.
This building consists of 3 floors. At the top of this tower, I can see the sky, mountains, and the expanse of the city of Hammer. When I came, this place was being renovated. The keeper of this place said that this place also depicts the 3 meanings of balance in life, the relationship between humans and the creator. Then, human relations with humans. Lastly, the relationship between humans and nature.
Then, I visited the Peace Gong. This gong is yellow and has a circular shape. In this gong, there is a reminder that conflicts between tribes and religions do not happen again. Palu and Poso are areas that have been torn apart by conflict. At the same time, Palu was also torn apart by a natural disaster, the tsunami.
This Peace Gong is very meaningful. There are 444 pictures as well as the names of cities and districts in Indonesia. This illustrates how vast Indonesia is. There is an inscription that reminds us that this Gong functions to unite brotherhood and unite the nation. The touching thing about this gong is that there are five religious symbols in Indonesia.
The first time I set foot here, it gave me goosebumps. just thinking about it makes me shiver. This place is suitable for peace tourism. One thing I learned, this place is often used for gathering and deliberation.
