Visit Taman Sari, The Most Historical of Yogyakarta

in Worldmappin3 months ago

Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are doing well. Recently, I visited Yogyakarta. One of the places I visited was Taman Sari. What is interesting about this place?

This place is a historical place in Yogyakarta. And part of the Yogyakarta Palace. What is its history? The history of this place is very long. I will not tell you about it. This place is very popular in Indonesia.

How big is this place? This place has 10 hectares of building area. You can imagine, you will be tired of going around this place. Another thing, this place has 57 buildings in the form of buildings, bathing pools, suspension bridges, lakes and others.

In the past, this place functioned as a bathing place for the palace family. There are four pools that I visited. This place was founded by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono 1. Do you know, what year was this place built? Long before Indonesia's independence. To be precise, in 1758 AD. Very old, in some parts there are offerings that make this place even more mystical.

In terms of architectural style, this building is very beautiful. Many beautiful Javanese styles. The function of this building, in the past, was only as a bathing place, recreation and resting place. However, from several stories, this place functioned as an enemy defense fortress.

There is a thick, high fortress and also a gate. In fact, there is a place to store weapons. This place is also close to residents. The way out of this place is connected to residents. There is also an underground place, I am afraid to visit the place.

From the information I got, Pulo Kenangan which functions as a monitoring place. Actually this place has an interesting story. However, this place has many unofficial tour guides. As if forcing visitors to join them.

Another thing, I want to tell you, this place was damaged during the earthquake in 1867. Then, in 1977, renovations were carried out in several parts. In 2006, Yogyakarta experienced a major earthquake and made this place renovated. Since then, this place has been used as a tourist attraction.

For the entrance ticket to this place, you only need to pay around IDR 25,000. you can be satisfied walking around. Don't forget to bring drinking water. Because this place is very big and you will be tired to go around. That's all I can tell. See you in the next story.
