Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are all right. Not long ago, I visited Yogyakarta. Where I work holds an agenda there. After the agenda, I visited a tourist spot called Breksi Cliff. This place has become one of the popular tourist destinations in Yogyakarta. What makes this place interesting? We can enjoy the view of the city of Yogyakarta here.
Another thing, this place used to be a limestone add. The existing limestone comes from tens of years of volcanic eruptions. That's roughly where it came from. This place is in Sambirejo Village, Prambanan. Previously, this place was a limestone quarry. However, the mined lime is starting to run out. Some people started to lose their livelihood.
Then, in 2014, the remains of lime were examined by two well-known universities in Indonesia. In this mine, rare tuffaceous rocks are found. Finally, this place became one of the Yogyakarta Geoheritage. The local government has banned any more mining. Some people enjoy the sunset in this place. Because of the beauty of the scenery, this place has become viral. Many people visit this place. Finally, the Yogyakarta government made this place a tourist spot.
Currently, there are several unique sculptures. The puppet story of Arjuna, who kills a giant, starts with the dragon. Then, there is also a statue of Semar. In fact, from the interviews I conducted, the sculptures made on the spot were made by local youths. I was pretty amazed by the existing sculptures, showing a patient and diligent person.
In this place, there are also often national events. A kind of music concert is often held also in this place. In addition, it is not uncommon for this place to be used for theatrical performances. Is there food in this place? Of course. This place sells food. Starting from heavy food to light. There is also a coffee shop near this place. You can enjoy the sunset with a good cup of coffee.
Because this place presents a beautiful view, there are many beautiful photo spots. There are many decorations too in this place. From the height of this cliff, you can enjoy the 3 main Prambanan temples, Yogyakarta street lights, city lights, and airplanes. If you are looking for a place to be alone, this place could be the choice.
This place officially opened on May 30, 2015, then. There was an inscription signed by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. In 2017, this place won an award, namely the most popular new tourist spot. When I came, maybe 1000 people visited this place. Here's my story, are you interested? I commend you. Look forward to my next story. See you.
