Hello everyone, how are you? How are you? I hope you are all well. This time I want to tell you about a building that I came across some time ago, namely the Faculty of Medicine Building, University of Indonesia in Salemba.
Previously, it was a Stovia medical school. Stovia graduates are doctors who become hospitals in Indonesia. 1902 from the Javanese school doctor to Stovia with a 10-year school period. And can only enter the nobility.
Well, this building used to belong to the Dutch-Indian government which decided to build a college of health sciences, namely the Javanese Doctor School. The Javanese Doctor School was built in January 1851
Initially the name of this school was the Javanese Doctor School. The school was built to improve the quality of health sciences during the Dutch colonial period. And the Dutch also managed the school.

The Javanese Doctor School was built in January 1851. Then, the name changed to Stovia. Stovia itself is an abbreviation but I forgot the name of the abbreviation. The establishment of the Stovia School was not for higher education, but this institution was established with the aim of improving the quality of doctors.
This building has European characteristics that have characteristics from 1916 to 1920. During the Japanese occupation, this building was still used as a medical school, but was changed to Ika Daigaku. After Indonesia's independence, this building became the Republic of Indonesia Higher Education Hall. Then in 1946, this building was changed to Emergency University, and then changed to the University of Indonesia.
Until now, this building is the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Indonesia with various medical specialists. That's my story about this place. See you again.
