Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you are well. Not long ago, I visited the Kranggan Traditional Village located in Bekasi City. Quite far from Jakarta. The weather between Bekasi and Jakarta is very different. Bekasi is very hot, especially the place I visited.
In this place, I visited a traditional Bekasi house called the Kranggan Traditional House. There are not many traditional houses here, only 12 houses. In addition, this house is also the oldest village. Indeed, around the house, there are many modern houses. However, this place still exists.
At a glance, this traditional house is like a Sundanese traditional house. Oh yes, I came here to visit how local traditions build peace. So, I got a lot of history from this place. This place has existed since the 1500s. Long before Indonesia's independence.
I also met several traditional leaders here who told me that their ancestors were inseparable from Gunung Putri. In fact, their ancestors also helped spread Islam. So, the local culture here cannot be separated from religion.
A number of house ornaments are very thick with Islam. There are calligraphy and others. So, this area is an expansion of Islam at that time. The houses here have survived for a long time. In fact, they continue to be passed down to the current generation. However, the main house is not inhabited. Only used during traditional celebrations.
Several other houses are used to store several important items for ritual activities. Bekasi is still close to Sundanese customs. So, this traditional house is in the form of a stage. The house material also uses a lot of wood.
