Hello friends, today we visited another local market. But this time the market contained not fruits and vegetables, but clothes, shoes, accessories and all sorts of home goods.
Before we start let me give you a brief about title, I asked about it to Eren and he said people call to such local markets Sosyete it means more luxary and expensive than other bazaars.
I really love quality clothes and shoes, but branded items have never interested me for two reasons:
- High price tag
- The same clothes all people wear
Yes, if you look at it, people, in pursuit of fashion, do not look at the quality of things or their comfort. The main thing is to be beautiful. This slogan does not apply to me. I prefer comfortable clothes made of quality materials at an adequate price.
And to my great surprise in the market there is an opportunity to find such things. The price tag is never a couple hundred Turkish liras (sometimes even cheaper), and the quality of clothes allows you to use it for many years.
Here for example, I want to show non-original sneakers Adidas, which look very decent, and their price is only 200 Turkish liras. Such shoes can afford everyone. After all, in pursuit of fashion and trends not everyone will have the opportunity to buy expensive clothes and shoes.
Also, all the shoes that are shown in the photo cost from 200 to 500 liras. That is why many people prefer to buy clothes and shoes in the markets.
Unfortunately, it is winter and despite the fact that we live in sunny Turkey, it rains a lot now. So this beautiful stand with a huge amount of sunglasses I just took a picture. I don't need them now :)
Turkey has always been famous for its gorgeous fabrics and people from all over the world order fabrics from Turkey. Again, the price is affordable and the quality is good. Besides, Turks like to make fakes of branded clothes, shoes and accessories. And in most cases you will not be able to distinguish the original from the fake.
And here we found a small stand with costume jewelry and I started to carefully choose a new accessory. But, unfortunately, I couldn't find anything. Maybe because I have quite a lot of accessories and nothing interested me?
There are also many stands in the market with big signs "everything for 100", "everything for 250", etc. People are very attracted by such low prices and there are always a lot of people near such stands. Sometimes, you even have to wait in line just to look at some t-shirt or tights.
Fans of technology here will also find good products. For example, a new phone case, headphones or other phone accessories. The selection is large and the prices are small. I don't know the quality to be honest but it's worth to try I think.
Just look at that huge mountain of bags! I want to be honest and say that the seller has rather low-quality bags. You can clearly see that they are fake and they are definitely not worth your attention. Prices here are from 100 to 250 Turkish Liras and even despite the poor quality of the bags, there are buyers.
It's also possible to find here quite good tracksuits. The palette of colors is very large and you can definitely find something suitable for yourself.
Also, I would like to say that this market is spacious and there are not many people here. This makes shopping much easier and you don't feel stressed.
And here is an example of a good store. There are a lot of people here and they are interested in buying home goods. The salesman does not have time to serve everyone, but people wait and leave with purchases in their hands and smiles on their faces.
Walking a little further, we saw a very interesting stall. An elderly man was selling various semi-precious stones (as he said). I'm not good at this and don't know if it's true. But I liked the way it looked.
I also really liked this stall with different soaps. The soaps smell really nice, especially the purple one - with lavender. The vendors say that each soap fulfills a different function. Soap with tea tree oil - cleanses, soap with lavender - soothes, soap with coconut oil - moisturizes.
We were on our way out and suddenly we saw a small cafe where you can drink delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. Eren said that this is a very old place and many people know about this place. They are famous for their quality and service. We didn't have much time and I didn't get a chance to try this juice.
But next time I will definitely drink this delicious and fresh juice!
Doner is everywhere in Turkey
Friends, my story has come to an end. I am very grateful to you for reading my posts and leaving comments. Let's continue this wonderful tradition - leave your comments, I'll be sure to read each one. See you until the next post. I wish you all a good mood. Bye-bye!
So many goodies, good clothes and the price is reasonable. I avoid branded clothes because I also believe I can get several comfortable and good quality clothes instead of one at the same price. Thanks for sharing such a market with us.
I absolutely agree with you. Also, as I said, when you wear a branded clothes, there is a really high chance that you might be wearing the same outfit as someone else. As a woman, I don't like this situation 😅😅
Especially in Istanbul, there really is no limit to the possibilities. You can easily reach everything you want. In terms of quality, it is very easy to find the jewelry you want in the quality you want, especially in Istanbul, there is a place called Eminonu and it is possible to find everything you can think of here
I also really like shopping at cheap markets, even though the prices are cheap, there are lots of good goods with good quality also sold there.
I think this is the real shopping environment. In the stores every product seems to have its place and it seems to be organized according to a certain standard and I don't like that, it's more fun for me to search and find things myself in the mixed market stalls.
