Hello everybody! The famous Russian expression "to Kudykina Gora" has turned from words into a specific place - a safari park located on the banks of the Don River, near the city of Zadonsk, Lipetsk region.
Note: The expression comes from the Russian word "kuda?", which means "where?". The usual expression is used when avoiding the answer to the question "Where are you going?". This is an analogue of the English expression "To Land's-End Fair!"
The park has a huge territory - 500 hectares, on which there is a safari park, a fortress, a church, many art objects, a camping area, a beach, several springs.
The first thing that attracts the eye of a tourist at the entrance to the park is a fortress on a hill. Inside it, quests for children and adults based on Russian folk tales are conducted.

Привет всем! Знаменитое русское выражение "на Кудыкину гору" превратилось из слов в конкретное место - сафари-парк, расположившийся на берегу реки Дон, недалеко от города Задонск Липецкой области.
Парк имеет огромную территорию - 500 га, на которых расположились сафари-парк, крепость, церковь, множество арт-объектов, зона кемпинга, пляж, несколько источников.
Первое, что привлекает взгляд туриста при входе на территорию парка - крепость на холме. Она представляет собой прототип скифской крепости IV-V веков. Внутри нее проводят квесты для детей и взрослых по мотивам русских народных сказок.

Next to the fortress there is a business card of this place - a 15-meter statue of Zmey Gorynych - the hero of Russian folk tales. On weekends, at certain times (from May to September at 20:00, and from October to April at 18:00), the sculpture comes to life and spews flames
Рядом с крепостью находится визитная карточка этого места - 15-ти метровая статуя Змея Горыныча. По выходным в определенное время (с мая по сентябрь в 20:00, а с октября по апрель в 18:00) скульптура оживает и извергает пламя.

After visiting the most popular attractions: the fortress and Zmey Gorynych, we went to see the rest. Right behind the fortress, the following interesting installation was discovered - three bogatyrs.
После осмотра самых популярных достопримечательностей: крепости и Змея Горыныча мы отправились осматривать остальные. Прямо за крепостью обнаружили следующую интересную инсталляцию - три богатыря.
After the bogatyrs, we went to the bank of the Don River and the next stop was a Tea House, which has a Source of Wisdom. Here you can plunge into the font with ice water, get water in a bottle or just enjoy the beauty of this place.
После богатырей мы отправились к берегу реки Дон и следующей остановкой стал Чайный домик, в котором есть Источник Мудрости. Здесь можно окунуться в купель с ледяной водой, набрать воды в бутылку или просто насладиться красотой этого места.
Then we went along the Don River to the beach. At the end of August, the water in the river was already cool, so almost no one swam in the river.
Далее мы пошли вдоль реки Дон к пляжу. В конце августа вода в реке была уже прохладная, поэтому в реке почти никто не купался.
Not far from the beach there is another installation - the helmet of the bogatyr.
Неподалеку от пляжа находится еще одна инсталляция - шлем богатыря.
Well, how can you come to Kudykina Gora and not pick tomatoes? There is, however, one tomato here, but it's huge and located not far from the helmet in a green maze.
Note: In rhyme to the expression "to Kudykina Gora" is usually added "to pick (steal) tomatoes"
Ну и как же можно приехать на Кудыкину гору и не собрать помидоры? Помидор здесь, правда, один, но зато огромный и располагается неподалеку от шлема в зеленом лабиринте.
The Don isn't the only river flowing through the park. The Kamenka River also flows here, which flows into the Don. Kayaking is organized along this river. And on the shore there is a camping place for guests of "Kudykina Gora".
Дон - не единственная река, протекающая по территории парка. Здесь также протекает река Каменка, которая впадает в Дон. По этой реке устраивают байдарочные сплавы. А на берегу располагается место для кемпинга для гостей "Кудыкиной горы".
From sightseeing, we smoothly moved into the safari park zone. I was very pleased that the animals here have a place to roam. In total, more than 50 species of animals live on Kudykina Gora - from the inhabitants of local places to exotic ones. It is also nice that some animals can be approached, petted, fed. Even special viewing platforms were made to observe the animals.
От просмотра достопримечательностей мы плавно перешли в зону сафари-парка. Меня очень порадовало, что животные здесь есть где разгуляться. Всего на Кудыкиной горе обитает более 50 видов животных - от обитателей здешних мест до экзотических. Приятно и то, что к некоторым животным можно подойти, погладить, покормить. Чтобы наблюдать за животными сделали даже специальные смотровые площадки.
There are several entrances to the park and one of them is decorated with such a beautiful stone bridge with towers - Alenin Bridge.
В парк ведет несколько входов и один из них украшает такой красивый каменный мост с башнями - Аленин мост.
We decided to spend the sunset on one of the highest hills on Kudykina Gora, on which there is an installation "Brotherhood" - 7 angels holding hands. From this hill there are stunning views of the Don River, safari park, the Church of St. Nicholas, built in the XVIII century.
Закат мы решили проводить на одном из самых высоких холмов на Кудыкиной горе, на котором находится инсталляция "Братство" - 7 ангелов, которые держатся за руки. С этого холма открываются потрясающие виды реку Дон, сафари-парк, храм Николая Чудотворца, построенный в XVIII веке.
The last attraction we visited was the healing eye spring. The spring itself is designed in the form of an inverted jug from which you can draw water. Many believe that holy water helps to cure eye diseases. The architecture around the spring is made in the ancient Greek style, there are even figures of a Trojan horse and a bull.
Последней достопримечательностью, которую мы посетили, был целебный глазной источник. Сам источник оформлен в виде перевернутого кувшина, из которого можно набрать воды. Многие верят, что святая вода помогает вылечить болезни глаз. Архитектура вокруг источника выполнена в древнегреческом стиле, есть даже фигуры Троянского коня и быка.
Before the trip to Kudykina Gora, I heard that many tourists coming to the park don't like the long distances between locations. Indeed, it takes quite a long time to get to each interesting place. For some, this is a disadvantage, but for me it's a big plus. During our 7 hours in the park, we managed to get around it only 1 time and walked about 11 km.
Kudykina Gora is a wonderful place where you can relax in nature, have a picnic, watch the animals and the Zmey Gorynych show, swim and sunbathe on the beach. Everyone will find entertainment to their liking here. The park provides all conditions for a comfortable stay.
До поездки на Кудыкину гору я слышала, что многим туристам, приезжающих в парк, не нравятся большие расстояния между локациями. Действительно, до каждого интересного места приходится достаточно долго идти. Для кого-то это недостаток, но для меня это большой плюс. За 7 часов пребывания в парке мы успели обойти его всего 1 раз и прошли около 11 км.
Кудыкина гора - прекрасное место, где можно отдохнуть на природе, устроить пикник, понаблюдать за животными и шоу Змея Горыныча, искупаться и позагорать на пляже. Каждый найдет здесь развлечение по вкусу. Парк предоставляет все условия для комфортного отдыха.
