As we approach the cathedral, we are immediately enveloped by an energy of grandeur and mystery, which transports us to ancient times, where faith and art come together harmoniously.
The interior (as I have shown) is rich in details and images that deserve your time to admire and get to know, but its exterior is a true testament to the historical and architectural richness that characterizes this sacred place.

A parte interior da (como vos mostrei) é rica em detalhes e imagens que merecem que se leve o seu tempo a admirar e a conhecer, mas a sua parte exterior é um verdadeiro testemunho da riqueza histórica e arquitetónica que caracteriza este local sagrado.
The main façade of the cathedral is a spectacle in itself. Built in the Romanesque style, with Gothic influences that were added over the centuries, it has an imposing appearance that captures the gaze of anyone who passes by. The portals contain detailed carvings, representing biblical figures and symbolic elements that tell stories of devotion and sacrifice. The columns and arches are worked with such detail that they reveal the talent of the craftsmen of the time.

Construída em estilo românico, com influências góticas que foram sendo adicionadas ao longo dos séculos, ela apresenta uma imponência que capta o olhar de qualquer um que por aqui passe. Os portais contém esculturas detalhadas, representando figuras bíblicas e elementos simbólicos que contam histórias de devoção e sacrifício. At the top, the bell towers rise like guardians of time. These towers, which have witnessed countless historical events, continue to mark the rhythm of life in the city, with their bells echoing through the narrow streets. The sunlight, when falling on the wet stone, creates a play of shadows that highlights the reliefs and textures, bringing the façade to life and making each visit unique, depending on the time of day and the season.

No topo , as torres sineiras erguem-se, como guardiãs do tempo. Estas torres, que já foram testemunhas de inúmeros acontecimentos históricos, continuam a marcar o ritmo da vida na cidade, com os seus sinos a ecoar pelas ruas estreitas. A luz do sol, ao incidir sobre a pedra molhada cria um jogo de sombras que realça os relevos e as texturas, dando vida à fachada e fazendo com que cada visita seja única, dependendo da hora do dia e da estação do ano.
Within the walls surrounding the cathedral, we find a garden that gives a special charm to the complex, even though it is not very large. It's a perfect space for a short break or a quiet conversation, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The garden, protected by walls, conveys a feeling of intimacy and seclusion. Imagine opening the doors or windows of your house and being able to go out into a garden like this. A refuge within your sacred place. Just thinking about it puts a smile on my face :-)

No interior das muralhas que envolvem a catedral, encontramos um jardim que acrescenta um encanto especial ao conjunto, mesmo não sendo muito grande. É um espaço perfeito para uma breve pausa ou para uma conversa tranquila, longe do rebuliço da cidade. O jardim, protegido pelas muralhas, transmite uma sensação de intimidade e recolhimento. Imaginem abrir as portas ou janelas da vossa casa e poder sair para um jardim destes. Um refúgio dentro do vosso local sagrado. Só de pensar fico com um sorriso na cara :-)
As we make this journey we continue to discover entrances, statues and specimens removed or discovered during excavations. We went down some stairs, went up some others and reached the top! The view from the top of the walls is stunning, allowing you to see the Minho River and the surrounding landscapes, which stretch all the way to Portugal.

Enquanto fazemos este percurso continuamos a descobrir entradas, estátuas e exemplares retirados ou descobertos em escavações. Descemos umas escadas, subimos outras e chegamos ao topo! A vista a partir do topo das muralhas é deslumbrante, permitindo avistar o rio Minho e as paisagens circundantes, que se estendem até Portugal.
The combination of the cathedral, the serenity of the garden and the solidity of the walls creates an architectural and landscape complex of rare beauty. Each element complements the other, forming a whole that is much more than the sum of its parts. Tui Cathedral, in addition to being a place of worship, is a space where history, art and nature come together, making this visit a lesson in history and faith and even reflection.

A combinação entre a catedral, a serenidade do jardim e a solidez das muralhas cria um conjunto arquitetónico e paisagístico de beleza rara. Cada elemento complementa o outro, formando um todo que é muito mais do que a soma das suas partes. A Catedral de Tui para além de um local de culto,é um espaço onde a história, a arte e a natureza se encontram, fazendo desta visita um lição de história e de fé e até de reflexão.
