Hello Hivernauts
Today I come to tell you about the success of a failure. An adventure that turned out totally different from what we had planned.
During the whole week my great friend @ledcerv and I had planned to observe and document today's Annular Eclipse. We planned ahead of time to buy polarized glasses and safety glasses to observe the eclipse without risking our eyesight or our Smart phones when looking at and photographing the eclipse.
After much discussion we decided to go to Plaza Bolivar, the main square of Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela. It is located at the top of the historical center of the city. From there we would look for the best view of the eclipse to make our observation.
The failure for me was that I could not take pictures of the eclipse, since my Smart phone, an Infinix Hot 11 Play did not have the capacity to capture the excess of the moon projected on the sun. Although I tried everything, I used the polarized glasses, I took pictures from the beginning to the end of the eclipse and from different angles, the camera of my phone was not able to capture the image I wanted so much.
Despite this undesired result, we spent a great afternoon walking around the square, looking for the best angles to observe the eclipse and take pictures. Visitors and passersby looked at us with curiosity as we watched the sky with such insistence.
Once the eclipse reached its maximum point, I started sharing the polarized glasses and explaining to the visitors of the square what was happening and showing them the eclipse through the glasses so they could appreciate the spectacle in its maximum splendor, especially the children.
Fortunately @ledcerv did manage to get a couple of good photos of the eclipse. I am very pleased for him as this is the first time he has observed such an event with his own eyes and this is where we succeeded in our adventure today.
I invite you to visit here Ledcerv's post so you can see the photo he took this afternoon from Plaza Bolivar.
Although I don't have a single photo that shows the eclipse, I want to share with you these pictures of our adventure to observe the Annular Eclipse 2023. I hope you enjoyed this solar event and that you got some great images to share.
I invite you to visit here the publication of @ledcerv to see the photo he took this afternoon from Plaza Bolivar.
Thanks for reading!
