Hello, good morning, worldmappin friends, I hope you are well.
Today I am going to tell you about something that personally interested me a lot and that I was able to take photos of while passing through San Pedro. The ARA Commander General Irigoyen (A-1). This ship was acquired in 1961 by the Argentine Navy. It was purchased from the US Navy with the name USS Cauhilla (ATF-152) and renamed here in Argentina as: "ARA Comandante General Irigoyen (A-1)". This ship served until 2009 and participated as a tug in the Malvinas War of 1982. In 2010 it was donated by the Navy to the municipality of San Pedro and made available as a museum ship. It is currently moored on the banks of the Paraná River in the city of San Pedro and hundreds of tourists come to Camping Balneario América, they can see it on the banks of the river and they can come across it to visit it and take photos of this small ship that is part of our history.

A historical gem that deserves better treatment.

Wow the beauty of the ship is very cool and very big, it's really amazing ❤️
Its always good to see old ships such as this displayed for the public to view instead of scrapping them.
