Hoy voy a compartir un lugar lleno de historias: la plaza del congreso.
La misma se encuentra ubicada frente al Palacio del Congreso de la Nación en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, es uno de mis lugares favoritos en la capital argentina. Cada vez que la visito, no puedo evitar sentirme impresionado por su historia, su arquitectura y la vida que respira este espacio público tan emblemático.

Today I am going to share a place full of stories: Congress Square.
It is located in front of the Palace of the National Congress in the City of Buenos Aires, it is one of my favorite places in the Argentine capital. Every time I visit it, I can't help but be impressed by its history, its architecture and the life that this emblematic public space breathes.
Caminar por la Plaza Congreso es como viajar en el tiempo. Inaugurada en 1910, fue diseñada por el paisajista belga Carlos Thays como parte de un proyecto para embellecer esta zona tan importante de la ciudad. Lo que más me impacta es el "Monumento a los Dos Congresos", que rinde homenaje a la Asamblea del Año XIII y al Congreso de Tucumán de 1816. Cada vez que lo observo, me detengo a admirar la escultura principal, que representa a la República, rodeada de detalles que simbolizan la abundancia y la libertad. Es imposible no sentir el peso de la historia que alberga este lugar.

Walking through Plaza Congreso is like traveling back in time. Inaugurated in 1910, it was designed by the Belgian landscape designer Carlos Thays as part of a project to beautify this important area of the city. What impresses me the most is the "Monument to the Two Congresses", which pays tribute to the Assembly of the Year XIII and the Congress of Tucumán of 1816. Every time I look at it, I stop to admire the main sculpture, which represents the Republic, surrounded by details that symbolize abundance and freedom. It is impossible not to feel the weight of the history that this place houses.
Detrás del monumento a la izquierda se puede ver el congreso, hacia el centro casi al lado de la escultura de la libertad el bar el molino y a la derecha el edificio de de la auditoria de la nación donde se encuentra el reloj con los dos colosos de casi 4 metros de altura.

Behind the monument on the left you can see the Congress, towards the center almost next to the sculpture of freedom the mill bar and on the right the auditorium of the nation building where the clock with the two colossi of almost 4 meters high.
La Plaza Congreso tiene un rol muy especial en la vida de la ciudad. He sido testigo de marchas y manifestaciones que dan voz a diferentes causas y conmemoran fechas importantes. Es un espacio donde las personas se unen para expresar sus ideas y luchar por sus derechos. Para mí, esto refuerza el carácter simbólico de la plaza como epicentro de la vida cívica argentina.

Plaza Congreso has a very special role in the life of the city. I have witnessed marches and demonstrations that give voice to different causes and commemorate important dates. It is a space where people come together to express their ideas and fight for their rights. For me, this reinforces the symbolic character of the square as the epicenter of Argentine civic life.
A pesar de su dinámica política, también disfruto mucho de la calma que ofrece. Sus árboles y caminos son perfectos para pasear o simplemente sentarse en un banco a observar la vida urbana. Cuando me siento aquí, me encanta mirar la magnífica fachada del Congreso Nacional y su cúpula, especialmente cuando el sol comienza a caer y tiñe el cielo de colores cálidos. Es un lugar que invita a reflexionar y desconectar del ritmo agitado de la ciudad.
ENGLISH VERSION
Despite its political dynamics, I also really enjoy the calm it offers. Its trees and paths are perfect for walking or simply sitting on a bench to observe urban life. When I sit here, I love looking at the magnificent façade of the National Congress and its dome, especially when the sun begins to set and turns the sky into warm colors. It is a place that invites you to reflect and disconnect from the hectic pace of the city.
Cada vez que visito algún lugar , aprendo algo nuevo. Por ejemplo, en la plaza está el Kilómetro Cero, un punto simbólico desde donde se miden todas las rutas nacionales del país. Además, sus alrededores son un festín para los amantes de la arquitectura, con joyas como el Molino y la Confitería del Molino. Tampoco puedo dejar de mencionar que este sitio se encuentra una escultura original del pensador de Rodin, expuesta a cielo abierto.

Every time I visit somewhere, I learn something new. For example, in the square is Kilometer Zero, a symbolic point from where all the country's national routes are measured. In addition, its surroundings are a feast for architecture lovers, with gems such as the Mill and the Confitería del Molino. I also cannot fail to mention that this site houses an original sculpture of the thinker Rodin, exposed to the open sky.
Para mí, la Plaza Congreso es mucho más que un lugar histórico o un espacio público. Es un reflejo de la identidad y el espíritu argentino. Sus jardines, monumentos y su ubicación frente al Congreso Nacional la convierten en un sitio que recomiendo visitar a cualquier persona que llegue a Buenos Aires. Si buscas historia, arte, política o simplemente un rincón para disfrutar del momento, esta plaza tiene algo especial que ofrecer.
ENGLISH VERSION
For me, Plaza Congreso is much more than a historical place or a public space. It is a reflection of the Argentine identity and spirit. Its gardens, monuments and its location in front of the National Congress make it a place that I recommend visiting to anyone who arrives in Buenos Aires. If you are looking for history, art, politics or simply a corner to enjoy the moment, this square has something special to offer.
