Wow, what a lovely place. It was one of the cities I wanted to see when I went there but ended up not going. Missing Plitvice and Krka is a great reason to go back! ;) I would advise to see Plitvice in Spring; if it is already awesome in September (when I visited), in the Spring with more water it should be heavenly.
