Hope you all are doing great!!!
Welcome to part two of this series Exploration on Wheels with @pranavinaction on his motorbike. In part one, we covered the unexplored area of Defri region and I am thankful for everyone who took out their precious time to go through my post. But if you havenāt gone through that one yet, Iāll be posting link below.
In this part, Iāll be posting my journey till the Dharsha village which is one of the major settlements on this Shegli Ksheri road.
The milestone in the photograph below shows the last village of this area known as Ksheri village which is 12 km from here. Yesterday, only we got to know that there is one waterfall also present after the Ksheri village but to that waterfall, you need to hike for about a couple kilometres, so we didnāt had time for that today, so we just decided to get to the Ksheri village.
As mentioned in the previous blog, it was now my turn to drive the motorcycle up the mountain on these one of the highest roads of the Kullu Valley. I tried to capture some photographs for you guys while I was on the road, it was just feeling like I am driving on the clouds. I was so high on the mountain that I could see clouds in front of me and when I look towards my left side, all I could see was little houses, the river was also looking very tiny. Now you can imagine how high I was in The Ksheri Mountains.
The sky was just getting more dramatic with every turn, we were taking up The Mountain. It felt like we were going on a heavenly ride in a motorbike. While I was driving my bike, I saw this beautiful spot on the left side, and I thought of stopping there for a while and taking some pictures. I wondered how beautiful the pictures will come out when we stand there.
And the results were just as mesmerising as I thought them to be. I captured some of the most beautiful photographs Iāve ever captured in my life. This normal looking motorcycle was also looking really dramatic against this traumatic skies and the dramatic mountain landscapes in background.
Even Pranav was really happy to see his photograph after I took it randomly when he was standing against the milestone. He told me that he will be setting this as his WhatsApp profile picture.
I went on the cliff, actually on the edge of the cliff to see how high we were, and as you can see in this photograph, how high we were!!! I could see the whole valley beneath me. I was able to see about 15 to 20 villages at once, and I was even able to see the boundary of the District Kullu from up there.
I checked on GPS and got to know that we were standing on more than 8000 feet above sea level and that was a lot, and we havenāt even started to hike yet. After spending about half an hour, there, we started a journey to the Dharsha village.
We were enjoying our ride on this beautiful road, when suddenly we encountered this board on an apple tree saying Dharsha Cottage.
They were also a couple of cars parked up on the road, and this arrow was pointing downwards towards an Apple orchard. We couldnāt see the Cottage as of now, but we knew that we reached Dharsha village.
On the other side of the road that is towards right, we could see a little house with in an apple orchard, and it confirmed that we were now in the village. We could see some bags of manure and fertilisers in the middle of the orchid.
I was amazed to see this beautiful house constructed in between an apple orchid, and I was amazed how well the person living in this house was maintaining his Apple orchid. As it is winter time nowadays, there no leaves on the trees and we have to do a lot of maintenance to the apple orchard nowadays, such as protecting the trees from extreme temperatures as well as the bacteria and the fungi that are present in the soil nowadays.
This guy has painted his all trees branches with a coating of paint that suitable for trees, and that requires a lot of hard work. That hard work can be seen in his orchid. And he will definitely get the fruit of his hard work in the coming harvest. By this example, you can see how hard-working the people of this region are and how remotely they live from the mainstream town, and yet how peacefully they live.
Now, after shopping, there again looked towards left and found out the Cottage. We were looking for. It was a small cottage nest in between the orchids, and you can also book it if youāll be able to find it online. Iām not sure how this person who owns this cottage rents it, but Iām sure that if there is a boat present on the apple tree saying itās a Cottage, so you probably can book it.
We also saw a shop that was half open at the time when we visited there in this village, I asked the person standing outside of the shop and he told me that there are very less people who visit here and he only opens for someone who comes to his house directly, he told me that he never opens his shop fully because there are no customers, so he just has some stuff for the time when it snow is, and there is no connectivity to this village and the villages above it. At the time, the people living in our villages, come to the shop to buy groceries.
Thatās all for today!!!!!!
Thanks for passing by.
Peace ā®ļø
