Hope you all are doing great!!!

It was a fulfilling day at the mountain, we drenched ourselves with the impeccable views and a great experience that will last forever within us. We had seen the best sunset of our lives a few minutes back.

It usually happens in the mountains that as soon as the sun goes down, only after 15-20 minutes there is a total blackout.

We forgot about that phenomenon while we were immersed in the view of the sunset. As soon as the sun was down, in a matter of few minutes the intensity of light began to decrease and we had just 10-20 minutes until blackout now.

We still had a long way to go through the forest. I was not able to capture a lot of photos during this time as we were almost running. We wanted to cover the forest as fast as we could in the little light we had.

In a few minutes we spotted a shepherdā€™s camp. We comforted ourselves a little that we were not alone in the forest.

IMG_2296.jpeg

After taking a closer look, we realised that it was vacant! The fear again kicked in and we began to run. We didnā€™t realise how beautiful that camp was looking with seven sister mountain range in the background. Iā€™m realising it now when Iā€™m seeing the photos that I took šŸ˜‚.

We kept on running for a few more minutes until my father got a sprain in his ankle. It was already dark and we got a major issue. One good thing that we did was covering a lot of distance running and now we were quite close to the nearest village.

Traffic jam in NH3ā€“

After walking a little further and helping our father walk, we could see a huge traffic jam in the road on the other side of the valley. It looked like people were struck there for a couple hours and it didnā€™t look good at all.

IMG_2304.jpeg

However, weā€™re somewhat relieved to see that. We thought that what was the use of being in our car when we have to get stuck in the traffic. This thought helped us a little more and also relieved our father.

IMG_2302.jpeg

In spite of being in pain, he kept moving slowly. He took our help in some steep spots but mostly he walked on his own. Our speed my now reduced to one fourth of what it was originally but we were not in rush now as traffic was still jammed.

IMG_2300.jpeg

I turned back to see and realise how far weā€™ve come. I could see that lower ridge where we were a few hours earlier. I didnā€™t knew that we had such endurance within us to climb a huge mountain and also come back the same day.

It was dark now but we saw another ray of light that kept us going. We could see the nearby village now!

The view of Solang villageā€”

Although it was dark, now we were not afraid. We faced a few challenges but the sight of the Solang village comforted us from within. It was only a km or two left until we were there now.

IMG_2306.jpeg

The traffic jam was not at all moving. It looked like something was wrong with the Atal Tunnel and because of that the flow of traffic was stopped.

IMG_2313.jpeg

We kept moving and it was dark. I was not able to capture any other subject but the traffic jam on the other side of the valley. We were moving slowly but we were moving and I was happy just to realise that. We walked more than 25 kms that day and it was really hard for a person of my fatherā€™s age to do that.

Entering the villageā€”

When we were about to enter the village, our father told us that he was not able to walk. He told us that his legs are jammed and heā€™s unable to move them. We were afraid to here that and we thanked god that it didnā€™t happen in the jungle.

IMG_2316.jpeg

We supported him on our shoulders through the village taking small rests in between. We knew that we were safe now and we could even stay in the village if we wanted.

Our car was about 400m away from the village and it was a downhill stairs on the way. We asked our father to stay calm and gave him multiple rests in between.

I tried to capture some photos on the way. A house that caught my attention was the house below that was full of dried grass and was made using ancient kath kuni architectural style.

The last phaseā€”

It took us an hour to get down from the village considering the condition of my fatherā€™s legs. I was happy that we made it. We reached the bridge that we needed to cross to reach to our car now.

IMG_2324.jpeg

There we were!!!

I thanked God that we made it and we were fine. It was surely one of the best days of my life. We were super tired and needed rest, specially our father. It was a hour drive to home now as jam was also cleared and we couldnā€™t wait to be there as soon as possible!!!

It was end of a great adventure.

Thatā€™s all for today!!!

Peace ā˜®ļø
