Namaste All!

Hope you all are doing great!

I recently visited Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh to see the holy Kinnaur Kailash up close. This blog is about the Day-1 of my trek to the Kinnaur Kailash, that is from Tangling to Ganesh Park.

Ganesh Park Campsite

Ganesh Park being the first and last campsite in Kinnaur Kailash yatra is an important milestone for the people who are the part of this holy pilgrimage. This yatra or pilgrimage opens only for a short window of 20-25 days in August.

One needs to register for this trek with local authorities and do a medical fitness test. After passing the test and filling out an undertaking form, one can proceed with the pilgrimage.

बहुत सारे सवाल है मन में, काश तुझ तक पहुँच जाऊँ तो सवाल भी ख़त्म हो जाएँगे।

This means that “My heart is full of a lot of questions, I want to reach to you so that all the questions will disappear.

A very deep quote that hits hard when you are hiking rigorously to see one glimpse of mount Kinnaur Kailash.

Kinnaur Kailash is one of the five Kailash in the world. These Kailash are considered sacred to Hindu religion and it is believed that Lord Shiva live here.

View of Reckong Peo-

Reckong Peo is the district headquarter of the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh and it’s clearly visible from the trek.

Another thing that’s clearly visible is a mesmerising view throughout.

IMG_9846.jpeg

The high mountain ranges, view of Satluj valley, and the presence of Lord Shiva in the heart of everything that’s present there.

This unique realisation and presence of a sacred vibe forced us to unwind and have a meditation session. The level of peace that we witnessed was un comparable!

The trek conditions

IMG_9833.jpeg

The trek till Ganesh Park is moderately tough with some ups and downs. Some times it’s quite easy but sometimes it’s challenging.

IMG_9828.jpeg

It’s about 8 kms from Tangling village, from where the trak starts. It’s goes through dense pine forest, lush green meadows and some rocky cliffs.

One should definitely take this unique opportunity to visit this holy place once in his lifetime. As it’s only open of 20-25 days in a year, you can’t miss it at all.

I’ll write about my experience in Ganesh Park in next blog.

Thanks for your time.

May lord Shiva bless us all!
