Namaste 🙏
Hope you’re doing great!!!
It was a cloudy day today and a perfect day for a 4x4 adventure in my Gypsy. Me and my brother decided to take one of the best off road trails in our area that goes from NH 3 towards Pangan village and intersect from fruit market, Patlikuhal.
The sky was looking extra dramatic today, with clouds, making different kinds of shapes. In spite of the weather being cloudy. The sun was shining behind the clouds and making multicoloured halos. It looks like there was a certain moment to the sky. All the time and clouds were moving very fast. The photographs which I have captured are not at all long exposures, but normal auto mode shots. These photographs give an illusion of the moment that’s happening in the cloud and might make you guys think that these are long exposures. Let me tell you. I have captured these photographs while driving my gypsy from my iPhone. So there is nothing special involved in capturing these photographs.
In spite of that the photographs came out to be really nice, and I am really happy that I decided this trip today. Now talking about the trail, the trail is quite narrow, one with road wide enough only for a single vehicle. The road is not cemented and has many loose rocks, only a 4 x 4 can easily cross this trail.
It’s not that any 4 x 4 can cross it as I have already mentioned, the road is quite narrow, so it’s difficult for big SUVs also to pass from it. there is a huge cliff on the other side of the road, so it’s quite dangerous if you are planning to bring a big vehicle. In the photograph below, you can see the condition of the road and also see a small van passing through it. This van being two by two was struggling a bit while crossing on loose rocks.
We were having such a great time, driving our 4x4 in this trail. I am quite excited about the prediction of snow that can happen in couple days, and I’m looking forward to go on ann icy adventure in my Gypsy at that time.
As it’s weekend, so I don’t have any work to do we had whole day to ourselves, and we could go anywhere we wanted. This was the best thing that one can do in their week off.
Undoubtedly, the star of today’s show is the sky. It was changing itscolours once a while. sometimes it gets really dark and other times. The blue sky is revealed. It was quite dramatic to be very honest. The sun was also occasionally shining from behind which added a new layer to it.
Before getting back to the highway, we decided to check the capabilities of our Gypsy in the steepest part ofthis Trail and it covered it with no efforts. It meant that Gypsy was in pristine condition and was super ready for the snowy adventure that we were planning ahead this week.
We drove on the trail for about 30 minutes and now it was time to get back to the highway in the photograph below. You can see the point where the trail gets connected to the highway back at the fruit market. All the shops that you are seeing on the other side of the road are fruit shops. They sell local fruits to the tourist who are driving on the national Highway three.
We only planned for this off-road journey, but as the sky was looking very dramatic today, we extended our trip. Now we decided let’s go for a little drive in the highway and chase the top speed, this beast can touch.
While driving on the highway, one thing I noticed was that most of the vehicles they were coming back from Manali and going towards Chandigarh or Delhi as the holiday season is now over. They were very less vehicles that were going upwards or towards the higher regions of Himalayas.
This patch of national Highway three from Kullu to Manali is perfect for a long drive if you’re into that kind of thing. You can either make it adventurous or romantic it all depends on the mood you are in and the road you take. If you’re more towards the romantic side, then you should keep driving on the highway, but if the adventurous side of your personality kicks in, then the off-road trails are waiting for you. But just keep in mind that you are going in an appropriate car or jeep, and you won’t get stuck there.
In winter times after the holiday season, you’ll find the roads most mostly empty and you can have a chill drive in the highway. You can probably check the tough speed of your car here, but be careful about the turns, otherwise, you’ll fall into the chilly waters of the Beas river, and that won’t be good at all.
We drove for another half an hour in the highway and now it was time to get back to our home. It would take another half an hour to reach back to our home, and I knew that the drive was going to be great.
We were back home after an hour and 30 minutes of adventure. It was a good thing that we decided a little drive on the highway after we did our off-roading. We did stop on a couple places to admit the beauty of the sky that we were seeing today. They were many folds and layers in the sky that we were enjoying, and I have also tried to capture some of it for you guys.
That’s all for today.
Thank you for passing by.
Peace ☮️
