Namaste đ
Hope you are doing great!!!
Winters are the best season to explore the Indo Gangetic Plains of India as the temperature at time is adequate to roam around. Iâm keeping up my #wintetchallenge sprit and exploring India in winters. In summers, you wonât be able to even step out of your house because of the heat.
After my spiritual journey to the holy city of Vrindavan, I came to the heart of India, Delhi. Delhi was on my way back home so I decided to explore Delhi for a couple days. The first place that we explored was the heart of Delhi that is Connaught Palace. So this blog is about the heart of the heart of India.
Connaught Palace called as CP by everyone, is also known as Rajiv Chowk. You need to take the yellow line of Delhi metro and hop out at the Rajiv Chowk station.
I was amazed to see how well the Delhi Metro was developed. The only problem with the Metro was it was overcrowded. Apart from that everything was clean and it was really easy to navigate in Delhi because of the Metro.
Connaught Palace is the commercial financial and business hub of Delhi and you will find a lot of showrooms, fun places, restaurants, and even hotels. There all the major offices of all the major government organisations as well as some private organisations are well situated within two or 3 km radius from here. The most important institutions of India like Parliament of India is also nearby.
Itâs a complex of early 20th century buildings that were built in British colonial time. Itâs made in circular form around the central Park just after getting out of the Metro gate and entering the CP. You will fall in love with the vibe of it. You might be able to get the glimpse of what I am saying to you by seeing the pictures below.
Taking benefit of the season, I went there in the afternoon when sun was shining so bright, Delhi is quite cold in winters, so it was a good time to visit there. The sun was giving a little warmth but the air was still cool. It was a perfect day to explore Delhi.
CP is full of life, in other words, you can say this is the most lively place in Delhi. People from all walks of life are always roaming here. You will never be feeling alone here thatâs for sure.
Not even from metro, you can get here even in your own car. Thereâs a huge parking there present for your car to be parked. You will always be connected here from all sides.
The weathering of time can clearly be seen here as this building was constructed in 20th century. There are spider webs present on some parts of the complex. But inspite of that you will love this place as much as I did.
The kind of vibe that you will find in this place is impeccable and is different from any other place throughout the world. You wonât ever feed. You are in India when you are in CP, you can spend hours roaming around here as this is central and itâs built around round Park. You can spend hours around it revolving and you wonât feel fatigue at all.
There are about five or six Metro gates that open up in Rajiv Chowk. All of them are at different location in CP so you will always have a Metro exit around hundred or 200 m away from wherever youâre standing in CP thatâs a plus point, you can always go to any place in Delhi. In spite you are wherever in Rajiv Chowk, thatâs the beauty of this place.
There are a couple of shops in CP that are still unoccupied from 90s, thatâs because there have been reports of some paranormal activities in those shops. I wonât mention the names of the shop, but you can see in the photograph below one of those shops in spite of being the high price in the centre of the capital of India. These shops are still un Tata. No one wants to take them because of the paranormal activities that happen here every day, thatâs really mysterious.
One of the good things I found there was the ICICI bank that situated in multiple shops in CP, I captured the photograph of ICICI bank, and it looked very mesmerising. you can see that in photograph below.
There is a flag of India. Thatâs from all the sides of CP as it situated in the Central Park. Even always have the site of the flag of India whenever you are in CP and thatâs really patriotic thing to do. Itâs really nice to have a flag of your country in the centre of your heart. I was in love with it when I was in CP. Itâs not a regular flag. Itâs a big huge flag that you love for sure.
You will definitely find all the major outlets of all the major brand, in CP. Not only clothing brands, but also eating franchise such as McDonaldâs, Pizza Hut, and many other Indian franchise that you will love for sure. there are many restaurants here that serve the best food ever in Delhi and there are many good bars here also that Offer good night life.
I got to know from the people around me that in evening time when this place is overcrowded, there is something going on as the busking or LIVE act that happens here every evening. There are a couple of people that do that act for free and you can tip them
As this is holiday season, I was able to find a couple of shops there they were preparing for the Christmas and they were decorating their shops for the Christmas and it look really nice.
I would recommend everyone to visit her whenever you are in Delhi. This is the heart of the town, and this is the soul of the town two. What I felt is that this place is the life of Delhi and you will find people of all walks of life here.
Thanks for passing by.
Thatâs all for today.
Peace âŽď¸
