Namaste 🙏

Hope you all are doing great.

Today, let me take you to a journey to the holy town of Vrindavan. In the heart of the town, there is this magnificent place called Prem Mandir (The temple of divine love). You will instantly fall in love with it as soon as you’ll enter here. It is one of the most beautiful building that’s ever made by humans. As soon as you’ll enter Vrindavan, the first temple you’ll come across is Prem Mandir. Just after crossing the barricade that’s placed in the starting point of the Vrindavan, you’ll find the entry gate of Prem Mandir.

Entering the temple—

As soon as you turn left while going towards the Vrindavan from the barricade, you come across this beautiful looking gate and you’ll see Prem Mandit written on the board there.

You need to pass through a security checkpoint and luckily when we arrived there, there was not much crowd there. We got inside within a couple of minutes. Sometimes it takes more than half an hour standing in the lines just to get inside. You can’t take your luggage or any bags inside so you need to deposit them in the shops on the opposite side of the road. They charge around 30-50 Rs per backpack there.

As soon as you enter the temple campus you feel that instant peace. All your senses are engaged in the tranquility of this place. You come across this beautiful place with gardens and the most beautiful temple you’ll ever see in your entire life. You’ll feel like you’re entering the heaven!!!

Beautiful garden inside of the temple—

There are lush green gardens all around the temple and they are well maintained. There are many leelas of the life of Krishan and Radha depicted there by art pieces placed there. If you know about Lord Krishna’s life, you surely remember some of the main events of his early life here. As he spent all those moments in this holy town of Vrindavan, it makes sense to make the depictions of his life here.

Everywhere you’ll look, you’ll fall in love, just as the name of the temple itself has love in it and is dedicated to divine love. Every particle here is full of love whether it be living or non living.

In the photo below you can see Krishna lifting the Goverdhan parvat with his finger to save the people of Vrindavan from the great thunderstorm that came that time. It is one of the famous tales of his life and here there are many such art pieces made there in this garden.

There is also a garden that goes all the way through the centre of the pathway and looks really magnificent. In short, this whole campus is a combination of garden and the divine temple built in the center of the garden. You’ll truly fall in love with this place.

You will feel that everything has come alive here and you are seeing the life of Krishna and Radha live. Just look at the photo below and see how good it looks.

The Prem Mandir—

This temple is made by Jagadguru Shri kripalu ji maharaj and his organization. It costed around 150 million dollars and was built in year 2012. The construction started around year 2001. It’s made entirely of Italian white marble and is really a architectural masterpiece.

IMG_5688.jpeg

It’s not just the temple which is special, but the area around it is also very well planned. Everything has been taken care of including safety and environmental conditions of Vrindavan. Apart from that the gathering capacity of people is very high here as it’s built in a big area, so it’s able to handle a large crowd of people easily, unlike many temples of Vrindavan, where it really gets very hard.

IMG_5697.jpeg

On the temple itself, there are many paintings of Sri Krishna and Radha depicting their life in Vrindavan. Those paintings are all around the temple and really give a meaning to this place and that’s why it’s dedicated to the love of Lord Krishna and Radha the divine love.

We visited here during midday, and at that time, the crowd is not very much there. It’s during the evening time. Most of the people come to visit this place. In Vrindavan, most of the temples close after 1 PM and again reopen after 4 or 5 PM. Another thing that makes it really special in evening time is the lighting that has been done really carefully on this beautiful building.

IMG_5734.jpeg

Whether it be time or afternoon time crowd is always present here at Prem Mandir. You will never find it without crowds. Devotees from all around the planet come here to witness this magnificent site of this really well built temple.

IMG_5733.jpeg

On the day, when I visited this beautiful temple, it was a clear sky and it was the perfect time to visit this temple as I visited a few days ago in winter time. During summertimes you won’t be able to even stand on the marble as it gets very hot here and as it was a midday winter day And we also got some sunlight. We were having a perfect temperature to stand outside and roam around in the garden.

IMG_5732.jpeg

We did Parikarma around this temple and it looks really good from all the sides. It’s symmetric from two sides and you won’t notice any difference on either side. It’s really well built, and you can see that when you visit here.

IMG_5730.jpeg

It’s really an architectural marvel and the attention to detail that has been given here while building this magnificent temple is unprecedented. Some structures are so complex to make that they easily could have taken months of craftsmanship and hard work to make and somethings are placed at such a difficult position that you will surely get confused how it got up there??!??

IMG_5729.jpeg

There is no corner of the temple that you’ll find simple or plane. From ceiling to walls and from walls to floor. Everything is super fancy. Everything has been handcrafted by the most talented craftsmen from all around the India.

IMG_5728.jpeg

An architectural wonder

IMG_5735.jpeg

Whenever you’ll plan to visit this temple, you should visit in winter time, and that too, when the days are clear and without pollution as Vrindavan is situated in the plane region of northern India, winters here can get really bad air quality index. From October to December is the best time to visit here.

We completed divine Parikrama of the temple, and now it was time to get inside. I’m gonna write about inside of this temple in tomorrow’s blog as this blog is already getting longer. For the timing, I would say you should definitely visit this place whenever you are in Vrindavan, and I’m quite sure you surely visit this place as it comes under the main attraction of Vrindavan town now.

Jai Shri Krishna 🙏
Radhe Radhe 🙏

That’s all for today!!!

Peace ☮️

Radhe Radhe baba, thank you for your posts on the Dham. My last visit to Vraja was decades ago, so it must be transformed since then.

Now I just carry the Dham in my heart and in my japa mala bag.

Best wishes from the south cost of Africa.
