Namaste š
Hope you are doing great!!!
Today, Iām going to write about my experience of travelling in Delhi Metro for the first time. Iām really liking Delhi and living in Delhi for a few days have been really special for me.
Show my journey was from Central secret station of Delhi Metro till the MG Road station in Gurgaon. Delhi metro is the most feasible way to go anywhere if you want to travel in Delhi NCR. Itās highly recommended as compared to road transportation as they can be very time consuming and youāll be stuck in traffic forever.
As nowadays, everything has got really modern, and there are many facilities to avail, you can book a ticket through QR scanning are you can also book a ticket through an app.
Downloaded the app, book my ticket from there, it was hasslefree, and I did that in just a couple of minutes. Now it was time for checking in and it was also as free. I was travelling in the afternoon time, so it wasnāt really crowded at the time.
When I booked my ticket through the app, you get a QR code and when youāre checking in at the barricade , you need to show that QR code to the scanner and then it opens up.
There are many lines in Delhi metro which connects the whole NCR. I took the yellow line which goes from Samaypur Badli till Millennium City Centre Gurugram. I didnāt needed to change the lines and so my journey was to be completed in a single train only.
The infrastructure has been built really good nowadays. Itās really clean and everything is in pristine condition. I didnāt expect it to be such a perfect journey, but however, it was everything was properly labelled, and I didnāt had any difficulty in finding any way, so I knew where I wanted to go in which path do I wanted to follow to get to my platform.
They were many signs everywhere in the station, including the floor to so there was no chance of getting lost. The photograph below you can see the differentiation between yellow and the blue colour lines. The arrow is towards where the platform is.
I need to go in yellow direction as it was where my destination was. They were stairs that were leaded me to the platform.
In the photograph below, you can see the clear labelling of the place I wanted to visit and towards where my train was headed to. It was clearly stated on the board that this platform would host the train that will go to the millennium city, Gurugram, so I need to wait there until my train came.
I noticed that there is train every 2 to 5 minutes, and I was really impressed to see that. Another thing that was impressive was the automatic opening doors that were on the platform to avoid any kind of miss happening.
Just after waiting there for a couple minutes, my train arrived at the platform. There were a few other people along with me waiting there and we hopped inside of the train.
It was not that crowded at the time when I hopped in it, they were plenty of seats vacant at that time, so I easily got one seat for myself. There were people from all walks of life there, including children, ladies, anyone older people. I was stoked to see that there were specific seats reserved for people that were older or specially abled. There were seats reserved for ladies too.
I was amazed to know that there was a special coach that is reserved for the ladies in Delhi Metro. The coach in the front is only for ladies and you cannot travel in it unless you are a lady that is done considering the safety of the ladies.
It was a rainy day that day and the views outside the train window were looking amazing. Although the weather outside was very cold, the train was air condition. There were a lot of things happening inside of the metro. Some people were talking. Some people were sleeping. Some people were listening to the music. There was a lot thatās happening. Itās always good to see and sit to observe people. You know a lot about the place youāre visiting through that way.
There was a really cute family sitting in front of me. They had two girls. Those two little girls were playing with each other. Sometimes they were fighting. Sometimes they were scolding each other and their mother was always trying to handle them, but kids are kids cannot help it.
A slowly, the train was approaching my station, it was getting vacant. People were slowly getting down from the train when there is their destination from Central sector to the MG Road. There were like 10 to 15 stations and the journey lasted around 45 minutes.
You can see all the stations in the photograph below. The red ones are the ones we have crossed green one is the approaching station and the stations without any light are the stations we are still approaching.
There are also audio announcements that happened regularly inside of the coach. Whenever a station is being approached or gates are opening. They let you know through the audio instructions that on which side the gate is opening. Itās really helpful to determine from where we need to get out of the train.
There is also a place to charge your phone in the Metro. If you bring your own charger near the seats that are reserved for the senior citizens or the disabled people of that there is one charging point where you can charge your mobile. You can see that in the photograph above.
So my station was there and I hopped out of my train. It was a really comfortable journey of 45 minutes. I didnāt knew about the journey at all. It was very smooth. When I hop out with my train. I took my mobile to take the QR code that was with me when I book the ticket, I showed that QR code in the barricade and it opened automatically.
It only costed me ā¹45 and 45 minutes to travel from Central sector to MG Road, but if I would have taken cab, cab driver would have charge me around ā¹700-ā¹800 and it would take around an hour or so to reach to my destination, so itās highly suggested to always take a Metro whenever you are in Delhi NCR. I was really impressed to see the services that are being offered by Delhi Metro Corporation.
Thatās all for today.
Peace ā®ļø
