Namaste š
Hope you all are doing great!!!
Iāve been home for more than a week now, and itās been a blast. Iām continuously exploring the places around my hometown and showing them to you guys. Today I visited a natural geothermal, hot water spring near my village at Kalath village. My visit to this hot spring was just heavenly. You will come to know about that in this blog, and this is one of the highly recommended offbeat places to visit near Manali according to me. You should definitely add to your bucket list whenever youāre travelling to Manali.
It was me and my brother we didnāt took bath at home today, and thought of going to Kalath village for taking bath in this hot spring. The whether these days is quite cloudy and there is chance of snowfall any time now, so just to be safe. We are nowadays travelling in my 4x4 jeep to be safe in case snowfall happens.
Kalath village is about 7 km from my village. It hardly takes 20 to 25 minutes of drive to reach there. Just like yesterday, the sky was really dramatic. Today there were many patterns in the sky made out of the clouds, and it was really fun to drive there in the highway.
Today the traffic was a bit more as compared to the yesterdayās conditions. This could be because of the completion of weekend and mostly people were getting back to their work after spending, maybe holidays and weekend here in Manali and nearby places.
So there are many hot springs here in Kalath Village, a couple of them are free of cost and made by government, but there are a few private funds which are really good and they charge nominal amount for the entry. There are many places which offer complete private spring bath places that you can book for around ā¹500-1000 per hour are you can visit this shared spring bath, which charges around ā¹30. This is my favourite place, and itās just after the Kalath village.
We parked our jeep on the side of the road and to reach the place I was talking about you need to cross the bridge thatās built over the river just after the Kalath village.
This is the present Iām talking about, and you can also see the view of Beas River in the photograph. As this is winter season here in Himalayas, nowadays, the water level in the river is quite low. You can also notice that in the photographs that the river bed is quite large as compared to the water thatās flowing on it nowadays. This is because of the heavy snowfall that is occurring on the higher region of Himalayas and the inability of the heat available to melt the ice due to cloudy weather conditions makes this river, very small.
This bridge is quite narrow, and so driving on it is quite challenging. Also, after you cross the bridge, the parking space on the other side of the river bank is quite limited, so it is advisable to park your car on the same side of the highway.
Entering the hot spring poolā
After crossing the bridge, we were now at the hot Springs. The name of the place was Kalath Hot springs and there is a hot water pool there which you can enter at ā¹30 charges.
It was time to have some fun now. The temperature outside was about 9Ā°C, but as soon as we entered the room in which the hot Spring was situated, at there the temperature, automatically began to feel a lot warmer.
It was built very effectively. There were places around the hot water pool where you can keep your clothes and your shoes. You can see those places in the photograph below. You can also see our clothes tied up in the background.
So what did these guys do was they discovered a natural geothermal hot water spring in the proximity of the Kalath village, and they installed a pipeline system from there to the hot water pool where we were at right now. So the water from the natural spring comes through that pipeline system to this hot water pool and itās a lot better to take bath in this hot water pool rather than taking bath in the spring itself as spring, can very temperature, and sometimes be very hot.
The temperature of water inside the pool was really comfortable and we were having real fun. We were super relaxed and we spent around 15 to 20 minutes. Taking bath in this pole on the edge of the pool. The water was bit colder, but when you need to feel the heat. You can always go to the pipeline from where the water is coming, and the water is really hot there, so it was really a good place to enjoy the overall bath experience.
Having Momos in the in house restaurant and getting backā
What does a person imagine of after taking a relaxing bath? Yes, youāre right, itās good food. Thatās what we got to know from a guy that these people also serve food on demand. We finished our bath and got to there into their in house Cafe where we ordered these really tasty momos.
So it was overall a really great experience visiting this place, we now really stuffed out of the great tasting momos we just had, and now it was time to get back to our home.
So we cross that bridge and reached back to our jeep. On our way back, we found out that the clouds were getting, and it was high chances of snowfall. Now we were really looking forward to see snow now, and we were really looking forward for that snowy adventure we were planning in our 4x4 Jeep.
Letās hope it snows real soon.!.!.! š¤
Thatās all for today.
Peace ā®ļø
