This week has been hectic. Well, each week is a hectic one but this one was exceptionally hectic. We're doing last-minute fixes in the application we're implementing before our first parallel cycle run which will already happen next week! Yay, exciting!
For now, I'm penning another dream vacation in one of the most-visited islands in my country, Bohol! Haven't heard of this island before? Read on for a closer look at one of this island's newest gems. ✨
Check-in in paradise
Our generous company booked our 3-day accommodation at Modala Beach Resort. Doesn't ring a bell? As expected! The ones you might be familiar with are Henann Resort, Amorita Resort, Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort, and The Bellevue Resort to name a few. Aside from the fact that Modale Beach Resort is relatively new, it's also located few kilometers away from Alona Beach in Panglao.
After our dinner at The Mist, we checked in at our assigned hotel. In my last post, we checked out Moadto Strip and as promised, today I'll try my best to give you as much details as I've captured in my phone camera on how this new player captured not just our eyes but definitely our hearts, too!
Starting with their refreshing take on design at their receiving lounge. It's very spacious and the choice of color, furniture and artwork says so much about the hotel's tropical vibe. At night time, it's warm lighting from the lounge up to the hallways gave us comforting and relaxing feeling. Just the right feeling every participant of that incentive trip deserved to feel.
In broad daylight, it's nothing short of invigorating. It bombards you with serenity and bliss altogether.
If you're wondering what the hotel looks like from outside the main receiving lobby, here are some photos I took. The entrance yells confidence, boldness and reliability.
I can stay in bed all day!
We stayed in their Tawhay room with two queen size beds that costs Php 7,500 ($137) per night for two people. That's the published rate in their website but maybe our company got it for a cheaper price since we traveled in a huge group in multiple batches.
I've been to countless incentive trips but I couldn't recall being welcomed this way. I know this is nothing new for them and it's nothing special. For all I know, they're doing it to all guest rooms in the resort, but my heart still fluttered when I saw this on my bed; even made my night. 😊
Our assigned room has a floor area of 40 sqm with the following inclusions:
• 49`` Smart TV
• Hot & Cold Shower
• Internet Access (Wireless & LAN)
• Tea/Coffee Facilities
• Safety Deposit Box
• Mini refrigerator
• Breakfast for two pax
• Toiletries
• Bathrobes
• Digital Weighing Scale (So happy to notice this inside the room HAHA!)
• Free snacks and drinks
• Sanitation kit
My roommate, who works at our plant, and I immediately assigned the beds and the areas of the room so our stuff won't mix up. There's plenty of space but we got to be neat and orderly.
This is how the bathroom, which took at least 25% of the entire floor area of the room, looked like. It's spacious and its glass partition spews intimacy. Despite its large floor area, only one person can use it unless you're fine with flaunting your body while taking a bath! HAHA! 🤣
Best part, food time!
The following morning, our call time was at 7 AM. I know that's a crazy call time; we were supposed to relax and unwind but with an early call time, I don't think that's achievable. We were told we're watching some dolphins and the only way to see them is to be there early.
I was amazed that their buffet breakfast opens as early as 5:30 AM; we were there when it opened and got the chance to take photos while the place was still empty of hungry guests.
Here are more photos of their restaurant which is located at the basement with direct access to the beach. Their food was decent enough but not exemplary. The only thing worthy of mentioning is that they offered various dishes and covered all the basics of breakfast, eggs, pancake, bread and jams, porridge, salad, fruits, juice, coffee and they even offer hot chocolate at no extra cost! Fantastic!
More photos of the restaurant. Overall, I think they did a lovely job in designing the dining area. A few minutes later, tourists came flocking to get their morning rations but despite the volume of guests, the restaurant was still spacious.
As mentioned earlier, the other end of the restaurant has direct access to the beach. In fact, there are also seats there should you wish to have your meals by the sea. 😉
If there's one thing I couldn't forget in their restaurant, that's definitely their service. The waiters and waitresses were very proactive; they're always on top of things asking if you still need anything. I think they underwent rigorous trainings prior to deployment in the floor. Kudos to the hotel management! 💯
Big waves no problem
Right after checking in and retiring our personal belongings in our respective rooms, some of our workmates jumped into the resort's swimming pool; they invited everyone else but tt was late for a swim. The cold night breeze wasn't something I'm willing to confront that night. 🤣 Nonetheless, I took photos of their swimming pool that looked enchanting at night.
If you can remember, we didn't enjoy as much as we should in our island hopping in Balicasag Island because of the huge waves during our visit. That's why upon arrival in the hotel from the island hopping tour, all of us decided to go to the swimming pool at Modala.
They have two (2) pools, one huge rectangular pool (4ft deep) fronting the main building of the resort and one kiddy pool (2 ft). There are two jacuzzis beside the pool, too! It's too hot to stay here at midday but when the afternoon unfolds, you may want to spend time here unwinding given that it's also overlooking the white sand beach in Modala.
White sand everywhere
This part of Bohol is known for its powdery white sand beaches and the one in Modala doesn't disappoint. The only downside of this beach is that during lowtide, you have to walk a few meters just to reach the water. It's the best place to bring your loved ones including your pets for a chill afternoon walk while watching the sun sets. And for the best experience, leave your footwears! Walk barefoot and be truly one with Mother Nature! 🥰
For stay-in guests, you can use the kayak for free for 30 minutes.
No pause for healthy habits
I had trouble finding my way to their gym, but when I got there, I felt lucky to have found it. Their gym is located at the rooftop with a spacious open air garden overlooking the beach, the pool and some of the rooms. I ate a lot during this trip. I felt the need to at least even out my calorie intake by running in their treadmill.
The gym is small but they have the basic equipment necessary for basic workouts so you'll be just fine! 💪
This is the mini garden on their rooftop, perfect spot for yoga and other physical activities.
There are plenty of hotels and resorts in Panglao to choose from but I hope that with this post, the next time you visit Bohol, you can consider this new kid in town. It might be new in the hospitality industry, but based on my experience I can attest they're fully equipped to deliver unparalled service.
Whooo! It's been a long day for me. Hope everyone's doing fine and see you in my next post! 😉

Classy! The view, the amenities and for sure the service are superb. I love the chandeliers or whatever it is called at their receiving area.😍
They resemble chandeliers but the used native materials for it!
Maka sana all man pod ta ani oi. All-expense paid by the company.
Mas sana all among Managers' incentive trip @itravelrox kay sa gawas. Nag Turkey and Japan sila for last year's incentive trip. 😁
I can say that from what I saw from your pictures the value for money/night here is fair, this resort looks impeccable, you find everything you want here plus you have an impeccable beach.
You can enjoy indoor as well as outdoor activities, which is great.
That's right @triplug, value for money has never been this on point. Although it's an all-expense paid trip and I never had to worry about spending a dime, it's important my company chose a resort that gave us spotless service! It's everything and I really enjoyed our incentive trip.
I am delighted when I see that companies stimulate their employees by offering them days off in different resorts, this is a great thing, and where I work it used to have 5-6 days paid by the employer in different resorts in Romania.
My opinion is that this is something that can stimulate and make the employee more productive.
Wow, beautiful photographs and wonderful place ❤️

That resort looks like an amazing place for holidays! 🙂 I love the lobby!
Thank you for sharing!
The lobby was a bit small in my opinion @delishtreats but it was pleasing. 😁
