Hi friends,
How are you today? I hope that the place where you are living also has nice sunshine and warm weather. In my hometown, there are only a few weeks left until spring comes to a close to give way to summer weather. Summer is a good time for us to take time for ourselves to go somewhere to rest and relax. Are you ready and prepared for your upcoming trips? The weather is very nice and favorable now, although there is still a little cold of spring weather but not much effect.
Born and raised in this ancient townland, since childhood I have been accustomed to the tranquility and simple rustic beauty of Hoi An. Witnessing the change of the small city over time, I cherished more and more every moment of the present. I've lived in Hoi An for over 20 years, but I've never had the thought of feeling bored in this place. The strange thing is that every day I discover new beauty in the old town. Four years of college in Saigon. I miss Hoi An so much. Remember every golden wall, every restaurant along the street, the alleyways around... how many good things are associated with childhood memories.
Hoi An was not as busy and crowded as it is today. In the 2000s, there were only a few houses with electricity, and our children came out every night along the river to play hide and seek. Or the whole neighborhood together to watch a movie through the black and white TV of Mr. Ten's house. On the sunny summer afternoons, the children learn to ask the older brothers to fish, then to go all afternoon to bring back the finished product are the fish enough for a pot of sour soup.
My childhood was associated with nature, with the lifestyle of a farmer, not focusing on the phone or the internet as it is now. I find myself lucky to enjoy an original Hoi An that hasn't changed much in industry or service. Speaking of Hoi An, it must not be strange to anyone. But there will still be people out there wishing to visit this place without a chance.
Today, I'm going to introduce you to Hoi An ancient town through my lens. Although not detailed, it will be enough for us to imagine this beautiful old town. Hoi An city is located in Quang Nam province, not far from Da Nang city. It is an attractive tourist attraction and attracts many domestic and foreign visitors. The geographical location of Hoi An Ancient Town is also quite convenient for visitors to travel. If you are coming from Da Nang, it takes only 45 minutes by motorbike, this is a plus for tourists who like to visit and explore in the style of adventure.
The distance is not too far, it does not take long to move so riding by motorbike is an experience that we should try when traveling here. Hoi An ancient town was built a few centuries ago, but the ancient architecture remains intact and has been preserved by the people here for many generations. They want to protect and preserve the unique architecture of the old town for generations to come to admire this ancient beauty. When we get to Hoi An, we will see the peaceful Hoai river that holds the heart of the old town. When it comes to living in Hoai, it is not strange for any tourist to come here for sightseeing.
The river is located right in the heart of the old town, so sitting on the boat along the river can fully see the ancient beauty of the old houses. The most beautiful nostalgic river at night, at night local people, visitors will burn lighthouses dropped on the poetic river to pray for a year with a lot of health and peace. Thousands of black boxes were lit to brighten up a long river carrying the many wishes of thousands of human beings.
The blue river is also trying to connect with the life of the local people here. The work of sailing passenger ferry on the river is the work of many people, having a family of sailors by sailing ferry for many generations, both to plan and preserve the tradition of his father in the old days. This is also an indispensable cultural feature in Hoi An Ancient Town that every time we come here to visit, we have to experience once. In addition to taking a boat ride, the main means of transportation in the old town are a wheelchair or bicycle.
The city has established a group of luxury wheelchairs to serve tourists. Everyone will experience the feeling of sitting in a car and exploring the old town. But the most popular way is walking. Walking for a deeper and clearer experience of a beautiful Hoi An is an opportunity to have some free time for yourself. Or sometimes to a roadside restaurant, free and comfortable. The center of the old town is not too big, so we often walk to see the full architecture of the neighborhood.
Houses in the old town have been around for centuries from the 16th century to the present, and in addition to houses in the big neighborhood, they crept into small alleys. The architectural features here are mixed from many cultures, here is a bit of Chinese, a bit of French, but when used, under the hands of Vietnamese people has a distinctive feature of Vietnamese people, so the culture here has its own characteristics, unique unlike anywhere else. Walking along the street, we will see colorful lanterns lit up, every time at night, all colors brighten up a long neighborhood.
Hoi An is known to tourists for its cultural and architectural beauty, which is in tune with the house, the road, and the scenic walls. Through many historical ups and downs, combating the harshness of nature, Hoi An ancient town still exists and still has ancient beauty, decisively coloring the rustic time like the personality, friendliness, quality of development, and closeness of Quang Nam people.
One of the most unique things when it comes to Hoi An is the yellow color on the walls. Along with the houses in the city, it is the main color and a timeless inspiration for young people who are passionate about taking pictures. There are many hypotheses raised around the yellow reason that appears as the law of cultural impotence in the ancient city. Some people think that due to the fact that yellow is the royal color, there is the opinion that yellow represents prosperity, adding the idea that there are historical elements... But whatever the reason, it is undeniable that Hoi An is the most beautiful with sunny days, the sun hovering and perched on lonely and quiet walls, next to a truss of confetti swinging in the wind. The sight has gone into so many songs and poems that go with the five months.
When it comes to Hoi An, visitors will not be able to ignore the "symbol of Hoi An" which is the Covered Bridge, going to Hoi An is impossible without mentioning the Covered Bridge, if tourists come here without going to the place. This famous reputation is a serious omission in his travel. The covered Bridge, also known as the Japanese Temple, is located at the intersection of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Tran Phu. No matter how many centuries have passed, the Covered Bridge is still preserved and exists until now. Previously, ships of Japanese merchants chose Hoi An seaport as a stopover, and the temple was built by Japanese merchants 5 centuries ago. Now the pagoda lies firmly connected to the footsteps of the people, people come here to admire the beauty in architecture as well as the vestiges of time, and the human values it brings.
Currently, tourism is on the way to development, the policy of the city wants to introduce the traditional culture of its country to international friends and domestic visitors to find out, then the fixed blocks are exploited and put into business with all types. From coffee shops, terracotta clothes shops, eateries... Visitors will be able to admire the panorama of the old house to understand the beauty and see all the architectural and cultural history. The cuisine in Hoi An is also very diverse and rich, we will come across street vendors with all kinds of dishes with distinct regional characteristics. Hoi An is a must-have High Floor, with noodles, chicken rice, and bread. Not to mention the barbecues, mango cakes, cakes...that are sold all over the streets. Diverse cuisine is also an attractive attraction for visitors to visit here. We can enjoy the cuisine of Quang in any street lane. Hoi An ancient town has its own distinctive features in every street lane, under every tile roof, tree line, and food culture. When we come here, we can know the heart of the people here in every dish, kindness, hospitality.
Hoi An through my lens will probably be different from many of you who come to Hoi An to rest, relax, or change the air. Hoi An through the ups and downs of time, still bright yellow walls, colorful confetti bushes, or mossy tile roofs... And above all, that small old town has always been a constant inspiration in me.
Thank you for reading.
Wishing everyone a very peaceful day!
