Where Life feels home. The Mountains. The Himalayas.

Nameste Everyone,
As scrolling through the past memories on my phone of the past adventures I came across a special day. A day which will always stay in me! A day where life was more than cars and eating delicious cuisines! Where the life was more of what it should be.

During my June 2023 Rani Sui Expedition there was a day, A moment thats I will be sharing with you guys in this post. An Expedition that made me wonder about the different sides of the world. A world where to get to know a true you, about yourself.

17th June 2023
Beyond Mahili Theel Upper Kullu Valley, Himalayas.
13,800 ft above the sea level.

A day of my June 23 Expedition to the unknown, unseen portion of the Himalayas. The Hidden Pir Panjal Range. A day when me and my team- my brother and a friend of ours decided to take the straight direction towards the north and explore the world beyond that. Having to cellular connection, totally disconnected form the world that we left behind we didn’t had any way of communication.

IMG_E7393 Large.jpeg
Our main aim of exploring this place was to feel home. A feeling that would make us feel alive was to know more about the mountains that we everyday see from our houses and when we come back home then we would see at a glance that this was the peak that I summited and made life long memories of seeing the unseen world.

IMG_E7394 Large.jpeg
There was no one miles and miles away just us and the wild Mountain Sheep’s gazing. Making it the most peaceful moment I had ever seen in my life. The fresh air blowing right in front of us and the lush green meadows and us literally above the sky, above the clouds. A magical moment that I once dreamed of.

IMG_E7398 Large.jpeg
We did no had any sort of idea that were we were headed up to as it was a day to live just taking a backpack in our backs containing food and camera so that we could capture the moments.

IMG_E7404 Large.jpeg
As we were moving further and further, more dreamy the sight continued to become! The cold breeze, the fresh and the most purest form of air that one can breathe. Just right from the snow becoming clouds that we could see and experience.

IMG_E7406 Large.jpeg
This area was somewhere around three to four hours beyond Rani Sui Lake. Which was the location of our Expedition. Usually this place is mostly covered under a thick blanket of snow most of the time of the year. Those were just the days that one can feel and experience the beauty of this hidden gem of the Himalayas.

IMG_E7407 Large.jpeg
Every next step that we too was bringing us the joy of seeing the unseen world. To bo honest guys life just felt like a dream that day. As scrolling through these past memories I thought why not to share these memories with you guys so that even you could see the magical unseen portion of the Himalayas.

IMG_E7410 Large.jpeg
There were several tiny trails formed up due to the melting of water that became a sort of a tiny canal. That was our only way of navigation after following the direction. We were just walking over the narrow canals that took us to the unseen world!

IMG_E7413 Large.jpeg
As seen in the picture, these narrow canals formed due to melting of the snow, most of the times becomes a great way of navigation for the shepherds who spend most of their lives in such places.

IMG_E7415 Large.jpeg
Pathways like these would never misguide you in the mountain region like these. But one has to be very careful while taking help form there canals as few of them gets of by the cliffs!

These natural guidelines even help at times of navigation in the foggy condition where there is about no visibility in front of us.

IMG_E7417 Large.jpeg

IMG_E7423 Large.jpeg
It had been more than an hour or so for us hiking along with the navigating canals that brought us here!
To the sources of formation of those canals, These glacials. Over which there was snow even in the summers. June 2023. The place still felt like below zero degree Celsius.

IMG_E7425 Large.jpeg
The clouds were right in front of us and it felt like that we were literally above the sky. At this location when I checked our altitude on my watch we were literally above 14500 feet above the sea level. The air over here felt kind of different. The atmosphere became thin and we were slowly facing some sort of difference at time of breathing.

IMG_E7426 Large.jpeg
We were trying trying to take longer breaths form our nose and even from out mouth too and we all knew that it was all because of the fast blowing cold wind in front of us and even the altitude. From this location we decided to take the other path that would took us to the lower elevation and we would explore portion towards the East rather than taking straight up North hiking steeply increasing out altitude over the snow and putting our lives at risk. Having no oxygen equipment.

IMG_E7427 Large.jpeg
It became a turning point of our journey that day 17th of June 2023. But exploring the Eastern part of the place took us to a new dreamy world.

IMG_E7428 Large.jpeg
Trekking towards the East of Pir Panjal range It had been four hours for us hiking. We had a hope that the eastern portion would be at the altitude a bit lower to the one that we were. As we had to decent in order to hike towards the eastern part.

IMG_E7444 Large.jpeg
Here again taking the natural navigation we were descending the elevated mountain and choosing this path that would take us to the eastern portion of the mountain range. Our plan as per this idea was to reach at the eastern portion of this mountain peak as the north would take us to a higher altitude and we may now find a was to go home. Therefore by hiking the eastern slope of the mountain range we could nearly reach towards top of Nasogi Mountain from where on the next day we would decend towards the nasogi village if there would be a possibility of the plan.

That was something that we used to plan our hikes. Exploring the unknown places taking our lives at risk. As that’s what makes us feel Alive, Feel Home!

IMG_E7430 Large.jpeg
After taking the trail towards the east, this was the place were the trail or the canal got ended. The canal that became the source of the formation of this frozen lake.

IMG_E7443 Large.jpeg
To what I would call a paradise!

IMG_E7442 Large.jpeg
The happiness that I got after reaching this place was a moment that I still remember and has deep memory in my heart...

"The picture that I have framed in my bedroom."

IMG_E7445 Large.jpeg
Sometimes life is just too simple guys, all the complications are because we create them. As in this world there are four directions. Just right like that there are solutions to our problems in our lives. Therefore we should follow the right direction instead of taking the paths which would tackle us and stop us form exploring.

IMG_E7408 Large.jpeg
At a point reaching this location we all decided to stay and spend a night somewhere closer to this location of pitch our tents here. As the place seemed so magical and even the Nasogi mountain was closer to us form where we could easily make our way and depend the mountain.

IMG_E7389 Large.jpeg
It was around 4PM in the afternoon where decided to take a rest and enjoy the beauty of the nature.

IMG_E7390 Large.jpeg
I still remember that how peaceful this feeling was, looking at the mountain Sheep’s gazing and making the sound that felt way too more peaceful that it ever felt like. It felt like all of these Sheep's were singing the songs of peace and a for a while life just felt like more that thinking about cars and delicious cuisines!

IMG_E7409 Large.jpeg
The clouds covering up half of the portion of the sheeps and at a quick gaze all of the clouds just vanishing away just like a magic!

IMG_E7411 Large.jpeg

IMG_E7412 Large.jpeg
There are less words to express a feeling like this guys.. Being so close to the nature! Never had an idea that places like these would still exist in the same world where we live in. Various thoughts came into my mind at the time being at the place that " Am I at a world that belongs to the Sheeps, No trees, No cars, No Roads, No houses. It was just a magical expedition that that I would always remember.

MTBO7577 Large.jpeg
Thinking about that It was just The East side, What would life be on the western portion of the Pir Panjal Mountain range that would took us to the dense forests of Himalayas where there is the kingdom of Himalayan Bears.

IMG_E7482 Large.jpeg
This was the place where we decided to pitch our tents and stay over here for a night.

POV. My friend, All excited telling us about finding a great spot to pitch out tent.

IMG_E7484 Large.jpeg
So thats all for today guys. I hope you liked it.
