Take your friends to experience "Wat Tantayaphirom" or another name is Wat Ton Tor and the 200-year-old temple.
Hello everyone
Today I will take you to see a temple in Trang Province.
This afternoon I had the opportunity to see a beautiful temple and experience the peace and beauty of a temple in Trang.
Wat Tantayaphirom
This temple is located not far from the market.
When I stepped into the temple, I felt the peace and coolness. The temple was very quiet because I didn't see any people.
Atmosphere inside the temple
In the afternoon when I visited Wat Tantayaphirom, the atmosphere inside the temple was quiet and shady. There were big trees that provided shade, making me feel very relaxed. I went with my wife and daughter to walk around the temple and take pictures.
When I walked into the temple, the first thing that caught my eye was the bell tower which was tall and looked very prominent. The bell tower is in Thai style with a three-tiered roof and is beautifully decorated with gables, raka leaves and hongs. The area around the bell tower is beautifully decorated with stucco patterns.
What is more special is that this bell tower is located in front of the temple and what makes this bell tower special is that there is a large clock installed on top, which is something that is hard to find.
History of Wat Tantayaphirom
Wat Tantayaphirom or what the locals call Wat Ton Tor is an ancient temple in Trang Province. It was built during the reign of King Rama V. Originally, this temple was called Wat Ton Tor
Because in the past, there was a large sataw tree inside the temple. This is the origin of the name of this temple. And later, it was changed to Wat Tantayaphirom
And later, Wat Tantayaphirom was promoted to the status of a third-class royal temple in 1984. Wat Tantayaphirom is a temple that is historically and culturally important in Trang Province.
Highlights
This temple is very beautiful. I tried to take pictures with both my phone and my Canon camera, but because the sunlight was so bright, the pictures had an echo, so I had to use my phone to take pictures. Some pictures were taken with my Canon camera. This temple is very beautiful. I took pictures from the outside until I got to experience the atmosphere inside. When I got there, I saw many Buddha statues sitting in a row. More importantly, I met foreign tourists. The woman was Thai and the man was an English tourist. So I greeted and talked to him quite a bit. When we were done talking, we went our separate ways. So I took some souvenir pictures. Both the woman and the man took pictures together.
200-year-old temple
This point is the golden temple, which stands out with its use of gold in decoration and red both inside and outside, making it look very beautiful and unique.
Inside the temple, there are many Buddha statues. Phra Phuttha Phra Maha Muni Sri Trang
It is a bronze Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture, which is the principal Buddha statue in marble.
Outstanding Elements
In addition, inside you will see a bright red ceiling decorated with beautiful chandeliers and colorful mirror-like decorations, which is a very beautiful image.
Phra Phuttha Angkhirot is the name of the 14th Buddha out of 28 Buddhas according to Buddhist scriptures. As for Wat Tantanyaphiram, from the information I have found,
This image is a sculpture of Luang Pho Chuan, a revered monk who is highly respected and revered by the people of Trang Province and Buddhists in general.
The top of the ceiling is a red chandelier, reflecting light to create a sense of luxury and brightness for the area. The decorations are similar to mirrors, and there seem to be many different colored mirrors arranged in a circle, similar to a flower, I think.
Exit door
The exit door area is closed and locked. I don't know why, but there are beautiful sculptures in this area. The temple wall has the ashes of the deceased along the entire wall.
The archway is in the shape of a gable with beautiful golden stucco patterns. On top is a Buddha statue in meditation posture and stucco disciples. There is also a sign saying it was built in 1969. The fence is made of light brown concrete with a white iron door. The area around it is shady with large trees and houses. There are also electrical wires and cables and there are also shop signs in front.
When there is an entrance, there must be an exit.
The gable arch has beautiful patterns and a distinct identity of Thai architecture.
And another point that is clearly visible is the part of Phra Chedi.
A tall white pagoda standing tall against the blue sky with scattered white clouds floating around, which is a beautiful image. This pagoda is shaped like a white bell with a round base, stacked in several layers, each layer has a gold pattern. The top is a gold umbrella.
The lower part is a large double wooden door with beautifully carved patterns. Above the door is a Buddha statue and the walls beside the door are white.
The roof has a beautiful stucco pattern of Garuda or swan with wings. The pattern is delicate and delicate. The roof has beautiful patterns and colors. The main color is red.
Reclining Buddha
Located above the entrance to the church
When I walked around the temple and walked to the crematorium, which is not far from the abbot's residence, before reaching the main building, I noticed 2-3 abandoned buildings and saw a wooden coffin with a curved shape and covered with iron or metal sheets. Some of them were placed on a wooden stand. The surrounding area was a cement floor with glass buildings on all sides. But it seemed that this tray was abandoned because it looked old and unused.
But I walked to the crematorium and then I took some pictures. This area looked quiet. When I finished taking pictures, I walked out of that spot and continued to take pictures at a large building. There was a sign in that area saying that this building is for meditation and studying Dhamma. Today, I walked around and took many pictures and gained new knowledge about the place and history of the temple. If I have the chance, I will take pictures of beautiful temples in Trang Province for my friends to see again. Today, I have to say goodbye for now.
So much history and good vibes...
