Today I will take my friends to see a temple in my village, Wat Phrai Son.
Hello everyone
This morning, I went out to make merit with my relatives for my deceased relatives. I went out to make merit for my nephew and my brother who passed away 2 years ago and my brother passed away 3 months ago. Now, my relatives have made an appointment to make merit this morning. We made merit at a temple in the village. This temple is called Wat Phrai Son.
It is a temple in the village.
Wat Phrai Son is located in Village 4, Na Taluang Subdistrict, Mueang Trang District, Trang Province.
The original name of this temple was Wat Pa Mak.
This temple was built around 1882. In the past, this temple was located in a lowland with a canal and Trang River in this area. In addition, there is a school near the temple. In addition to the school, there are also rubber plantations and houses of the villagers in this area around the temple.
Wat Phrai Sorn is a temple for the people, belonging to the Mahanikaya sect. Currently, there is no abbot because the abbot passed away last year. Currently, there is no monk assigned to be the abbot of this temple.
Inside the temple
Inside the temple are various buildings, a sermon hall, a prayer hall, and monks' huts.
A famous monk who is respected by the villagers of Village 4, Na Taluang, and the villagers in this area is Pho Kae Chuay. This temple is the center of the villagers in this area. They often come to make merit and perform religious ceremonies and activities with the monks in the temple.
Religious ceremony of making merit
After telling the history to friends, let's continue with the religious ceremony.
Different areas and locations may not be the same. The practice and religious ceremony
After preparing the food and the place, I invited the monks from the hut to the chapel. When I arrived, I started by lighting candles to invite the Triple Gem. Then I took the food to offer to the Buddha.
Then I came back to do the ceremony and listen to the monks chant.
When the monks have finished chanting and listening to the sermon, it is time to invite the monks to eat the food that has been prepared for offering.
This picture is of the current Phrai Sorn Temple or Pa Mak Temple, which is currently building a new kuti. In this area, they accept donations by having people or villagers like me make merit by buying roof tiles for 99 baht each. You can put the donation money in the donation box or scan the QR Code to pay to the temple. Today, I made some merit.
Wall Paintings
These mural paintings in temples are usually beautiful paintings and are stories about Buddhism, such as the life of the Buddha or dhamma stories, so that visitors to the temple can study these paintings and understand the principles of the teachings more easily. In addition, there are paintings about culture and images of the Buddha.
In this temple, the origin is unknown. The picture we sent is a picture of the Buddha, which is a beautiful painting. So I walked around taking many pictures, which were taken with a mobile phone. These pictures are painted on the walls of the pavilion. In this pavilion, there are many large Buddha statues.
And the highlight and interesting thing of Wat Phrai Sorn
is the large Buddha statue enshrined in the pavilion. This Buddha statue has a beautiful and majestic appearance and is highly respected by the villagers.
In addition to the large Buddha statue, there are also many small Buddha statues inside the seaweed, each of which is beautiful and has different characteristics.
Wat Phrai Son is not only a place for meditation, but also a place that reflects the way of life and culture of the people in the community who have been connected to the temple for a long time.
Today, I must say goodbye.
