Hello lovely Hive’s People. Writing after a great pause because dealing with some health issues.
Today I’m going to write about Mana village. I’m sure a lot’s of people know about this place because it was known as Last Village Of India.
Now Indian government changed it into first village of India.
After this village…border of china starts.
One day we explored nearby area of Badri vishal..next day we went to mana village.
I was really thrilled because I have had heard lots of story of this place and wanted so badly come here and see what is actual mana.
The distance between Badrinath ji to mana village approx 5km,there is no public transportation you can avail either walk or just book private taxi.
We booked one…and we reached there.
Before further details about how I did explored this place let’s know little bit about mana village.
Mana in Uttarakhand is the last Indian village. It is situated in Chamoli district at an elevation of 3200m in Uttarakhand, India. The people live here are known as Bhutiyas (Mangol tribe). Mana is famous for many things such as Woolen garmemnt (shawls, caps , mufflers etc) and carpets. You can also find thin and very warm wrap-around or blanket prepared from sheep wool locally called as "Pankhi". Mana is also known for it's kidney beans and potatoes.
It is said that the Pandavas passed through this route on their way to Heaven (or Kailash) and you can see and walk down this mythological lane as well. You can visit Bhima Pul - a stone bridge which Bhima made, so his brothers and Draupadi could cross the Saraswati River and also the Ganesha cave where Lord Ganesha is said to have written the Mahabharata while the sage Vyasa narrated it.
So we reached there and started walking…there is small lane going through village.
Side by side there is houses of people from mana village.
Trust me..I was awestruck to see people from mana.
They are many old people but very very active. They are knitting, talking happily, and doing all the stuff which you and I can’t imagine in this age they are doing in there 80/90 or more.
I was really taken aback.
In mana village there is also a shop which is very famous known as “Last chai ki dukaan”.
We Indians really obsessed with chai…we need it everywhere.
We went to Ganesh gufa,
Vashisth gufa where famous Hindu mythological book was written known as ‘Mahabharat’.
There is a different vibe in Mana…Trust me when you go there and you pass by small lanes and see houses, people, children, see them working…
you’ll only get to know what kind of vibe I’m talking about. You will learn something within yourself and I think that’s what travelling is…you watch-you observe and there something changes in you which you can’t describe that’s what happens with me in mana village.
