My First Hive Meet Up in Kuta Beach, Bali

in Worldmappin2 years ago

On that bright afternoon at Kuta Beach, the time was around 4:30 PM when I spotted the Hive sign from a distance on the shore, and my excitement peaked as it marked the location of my first ever Hivemeetup in Bali. For years, I had read about Hive meetups and Hive fests everywhere except here, so this moment was quite special.

As I approached the Hive Sign, I noticed three people standing nearby. One man was the Balinese who helped with putting the Hive Sign on the sand. Another person, whom I never met, was @coolsurfer. The third one was a man whom I had seen his photos a lot before, and I was very certain that he was....

"@detlev!" I called out.

He turned towards me with a warm smile. "Putu!"

And so, my first encounter with @Detlev took place. He invited me to sit down on plastic chairs, and we ordered coconut drinks along with meatball soup. The conversation revolved around Hive and the various games on the platform. I asked him all the questions that came to mind, and he was more than happy to answer each one. I said to him that I have played splinterland and godsunchained. He introduced me two games that he played on HIVE platform. He told me he also played dcity.

"You have nice places in Bali, you should write about them and post them in @pinmapple community. Use pinmapple as your first tag." He suggested.

Well, most of previous post were travel related. I understand this topic better since I work as tour guide, especially about places in Bali. I don't understand about Hive blockchain, hard fork, or any technical detail related to Hive.

Next, @detlev told me that the Hive sign was arranged by @coolsurfer and was impressively neat. It had been something I had longed to see for quite some time.

"Since you're the first Hivean to arrive at this meetup, you've won a HIVE T-shirt," @Detlev announced with a hint of excitement. Well, this was a very nice surprise! I had always wanted to get my hands on one of those T-shirts featuring the HIVE logo on the front or its back. I think @Detlev added that the design was created by an A.I. Take that @ekavieka

As the sky turned reddish with the setting sun behind the clouds, I marveled at how quickly time had flown by during our meetup.

I expressed my heartfelt gratitude to the guys for hosting such a wonderful Bali meetup. It was an unforgettable experience, and I cherished every moment spent with fellow Hiveans. As the meetup came to an end, I bid farewell to @coolsurfer @charly.travels @sunsea and @detlev.
