Today I want to share with you my experience at the National Pantheon in Lisbon, Portugal. But I will not only talk about my experience in the place, I will also share the knowledge acquired in the place and a bit of the history of this place that is currently open to the public so that all visitors or residents of Portugal can learn about the history of this country.

El día de hoy quiero compartirles mi experiencia en el panteón nacional de Lisboa, Portugal. Pero no solo hablaré de mi experiencia en el lugar, también compartiré los conocimientos adquiridos en el lugar y un poco de la historia de este lugar que actualmente está abierto al público para que todos los visitantes o residentes de Portugal puedan conocer la historia de este país.
First impression of the place! I think I'm not the only one that the exterior side of this place reminds you of a cathedral, right? Well we are right, this place was a cathedral, so these designs of the catholic religion with a renaissance architecture. But it is normal that this place is of this style, since we are talking about a structure created since 1568 and its elaboration was finished in 1966.

Pues estamos en lo cierto, este lugar fue una catedral, por lo cual estos diseños de la religión católica con una arquitectura renacentista. Pero es normal que este lugar sea de este estilo, ya que hablamos de una estructura creada desde el año 1568 y fue terminado su elaboración en 1966.
After we passed through the entrance of the pantheon, we entered this beautiful place, with unique and classic designs in Europe. Our first impression that our eyes have when entering we finish confirming that this was a cathedral for its architecture in the interior and the huge organ embedded in the wall in the center of the place, also if you place yourself in the center of the place you will have a unique view of the dome, which years ago had bell towers.

Luego que pasamos por la entrada del panteón, entramos a este hermoso lugar, con diseños únicos y clásicos en Europa. Nuestra primera impresión que tiene nuestros ojos al entrar terminamos de confirmar que esto fue una catedral por su arquitectura en el interior y el enorme órgano empotrado en la pared en el centro del lugar, además que sí te colocas en el centro del lugar tendrás una vista única de la cúpula, qué años atrás tenía campanarios.
What is a pantheon? Why do many countries have these places? Well, a pantheon is a cemetery where they usually bury historical people who have impacted the country in a big way, tribute is given to these people for their good service to their country. From military, musicians, sportsmen, discoverers, presidents, etc., are found in this place. But this concept is not something new, in 1820 a Portuguese minister declared the edification of a pantheon where the heroes of the country and influencer for example this minister wanted to place the famous Luís de Camões, a literary poet, father of the Lusofona literature in Portugal. But this building that not many years ago was opened to be the national pantheon in 1966, when it finished its construction, we know that formerly these heroes were in the monastery of the Hieronymites and when the construction was finished, they were moved to this place.

¿Qué es un panteón? ¿Por qué muchos países tienen estos lugares? Bueno, un panteón es un cementerio donde se suele enterrar personas históricas que han impacto de una manera grande el país, se le da homenaje, a estas personas por su buen servicio a su país. Desde militares, músicos, deportistas, descubridores, presidentes, etc., se encuentran en este lugar. Pero este concepto no es algo nuevo, en 1820 un ministro portugués declaro la edificación de un panteón donde se llevaría los héroes del país e influencer por ejemplo este ministro quiso colocar al famoso Luís de Camões, un poeta literario, padre de la literatura lusofona en Portugal. Pero esta edificación que no hace muchos años se abrió para ser el panteón nacional en 1966, cuando termino su construcción, sabemos que antiguamente estos héroes se encontraban en el monasterio de los jerónimos y cuando finalizo la construcción, fueron movidos a este lugar.

Ahora que sabemos lo que es este lugar podemos hacer nuestro tour. Esta edificación tiene varios pisos y tienes desde la entrada hasta el centro que sin duda es un gran punto de fotografías por sus grandes diseños que crea fotos hipnotizantes por su preciosa arquitectura. Y ya en este lugar podemos ver personajes históricos de Portugal como Luís de Camões ya sabemos que es un poeta literario, vasco da gama fue un navegante importante en la historia de Portugal. Nuno Álvaro Pereira, un guerrero que lucho para mantener la independencia de Portugal en los años 1383. El personaje Afonso de Alburquerque, que fue vice-rey en la india, en la época de 1504.
We leave the center and the entrance of the pantheon, now we will enter the second room, where we will meet other characters, former presidents, musicians and military men who influenced the construction of the Portuguese republic. Also in this room we can see a map of the pantheon.

After passing through the hall we will begin to climb in the pantheon, we will find nice areas to appreciate the internal beauty with a good height. But on the terrace is concentrated the exterior side and the surroundings of the pantheon, where we can photograph a part of the pantheon at the top and also the center of the city of the capital. It is also normal that we meet with cruise ships passing through the Tejo Lake, as nearby is a landing point for tourists to visit the center of Lisbon and from the pantheon you can observe these moments and also some sailboats and ships.

Luego de pasar por la sala vamos a comenzar a subir en el panteón, toparemos áreas lindas para poder apreciar la belleza interna con una buena altura. Pero en la terraza está concentrado el lado exterior y los alrededores del panteón, donde podemos fotografiar una parte del panteón en la parte de arriba y también del centro de la ciudad de la capital. También es normal que nos encontremos con cruceros pasando por el lago Tejo, ya que cerca se encuentra un punto de desembarque para los turistas poder visitar el centro de Lisboa y desde el panteón puedes observar esos momentos y también algunos veleros y barcos.
With a big surprise, just that day I decided to go to the place, I stumbled upon the local market, where we can buy handicrafts, paintings, books, food and souvenirs of the country. These markets, which are held one day on the weekend, you can buy many things, with more flexible prices and also helps artisans to sell their creations.
In general, I really liked this visit, I managed to learn a lot about the history of this country, plus the architecture of the place is very nice and provides some unique photographs, I definitely recommend visiting this place and its surroundings.

Con una gran sorpresa, justo ese día que decidí ir al lugar, me tope con el mercado local, donde podemos comprar artesanías, cuadros, libros, comidas y recuerdos del país. Estos mercados, que se realizan un día en el fin de semana, puedes comprar muchas cosas, con precios más flexibles y también ayuda a artesanos vender sus creaciones.
En lo general, me gusto mucho esta visita, logre aprender mucho de la historia de este país, además que la arquitectura del lugar es muy lindo y proporciona unas fotografías únicas, sin duda recomiendo visitar este lugar y sus alrededores.
