Vacation with Family at Ujung Genteng Beach

Hello fellow travel enthusiasts and admirers of natural beauty in the #Worldmappin community. Hopefully we are all healthy and happy. Be happy by always being grateful for all the blessings that God has given you. Welcome to my first post in this community. In this first post, I want to share a story about a tourist trip with my extended family to Pasir Putih Ujung Genteng Beach, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Some people also call this beach the Ujung Genteng Blue Tent Beach. From my trip with my family, I want to share photos of the natural beauty that I visited and are photos from the family collection.

Departed with my family using 3 private vehicles in the middle of the night because the Ujung Genteng Beach tourist area is quite far from where I live, which is the same size and usually requires a minimum travel time of 6.5 hours if the road conditions are not congested. After traveling for 4 hours and the time was starting to approach the time for the Fajr prayer, we took a short break on the way to perform the Fajr prayer at a mosque on the edge of the Sukabumi highway. In front of the mosque where we performed the morning prayer there was a shopping area and after the morning prayer we stopped at the shop to buy food and drinks as food supplies for the tourist location. We know that at the Ujung Genteng Beach tourist location there are no stalls or shops selling food and drinks, so we have to provide supplies.

The journey got closer to our destination when the reddish dawn became brighter, but suddenly the dawn faded and was replaced by cloudy clouds accompanied by raindrops. This situation was actually predicted because as usual, rainfall will increase ahead of the Chinese New Year celebrations for our Confucian brothers. Hopefully the rain will be a sign that blessings will fall.
In drizzling rain, we finally arrived at the Ujung Genteng Beach tourist location. We spent a long time in the car waiting for the rain to stop. Meanwhile, one person from our group had come here several times and knew someone who had a hut near this beach.

Because of the brotherhood between one of the group members and the hut owner, finally we were all invited to enter the hut by the owner. I just found out that this hut is the only one that provides toilets and bathrooms for visitors. This hut, which has almost all its walls covered with plastic tarpaulin, is very simple. To get water, they still use dug wells and have to draw it using buckets and ropes. Because of the friendship between members of our group and the owner of the hut, we were finally treated to coffee and snacks for breakfast, lunch in the form of white rice and side dishes. We were even allowed to take a break to sit around waiting for the rain to stop.

Thank God, around 08.00 the rain subsided and we and our family went straight to the beach to play in the water and play together to enjoy the beautiful scenery here when the sea water began to recede. I share several photos from a collection of family photos while enjoying the beauty of the beach in this post.

While all the family members were busy playing on the beach, I headed to the protected forest location along the coastline. As someone who enjoys hunting for natural species, I took aim at several plants and animals that I found in this protected forest. I took several photos of the types of insects, flowers and mushrooms that I found in the coastal protected forest.

I returned to the beach to join the group while taking several photos of the marine life here when the sea water receded.

It was starting to get late in the afternoon and we and our family had to end our journey to return home. Finally we continued our journey to return home after saying goodbye to the hut owner who had hosted us during our visit to the Ujung Genteng Beach tourist area. Our hope is that one day we will return to this beautiful beach with a natural beach atmosphere, clean and far from noise.
