The newly opened city park in my hometown was on our visit list and we were waiting for the opportunity to make it happen. It was near my house, in the middle of Rangpur, a city in Bangladesh. It took only a few minutes of walking to get there.
I was amazed to see how many things they managed to build in a small space. For example, the kid's play zone, the food corner, the small pond, and a beautiful flower garden. The park didn't just become a new attraction for kids but for parents and old age people, it became a recreation place for all.
Let me show you around.
This will be the first view after you enter the park.
The name of this park is Police Line Park because it's located in front of the Police School and was built & financed by Bangladesh Police. But this park is open for all, from early morning to 10 pm. Probably, they will change the name later and extend the place a little more as I have heard.
On the right side of the park is this pond. The watercolor is not crystal clear as it's not artificial but kind of a natural park. On the left side, you will get the sitting place where many parents and old age people are resting, relaxing, and hanging out.
If you step ahead a little more, there will be a watch tower, from where you will get to see the whole place as well as the School and Police quarter.
And on the left side, there was a boat-shaped seating place. They tried to make the place not so boring but vibrant.
This is the kid's area. The play zone seemed very safe for kids, there were a few more rides. Seems like without adult active supervision, kids can play on their own.
The best thing is this park doesn't require any entry fee. It's open to all and the rides are free too. So there's no question about affordability. And as there is no such place available nearby it's become the best place for the city dwellers.
I found this beautiful Mural at the end of the park area. It's a bullock cart that represents the lifestyle of rural Bangladesh.
Also, there were some wall paintings with detailed information about the historical and significant personality of Rangpur city that I forgot to take photos of.
If you step ahead a little more then you will discover the flower garden and the steps by the side of the pond. There are sitting arrangements/platforms where you can rest and enjoy the beauty of the pond.
Another nice thing about the park is the beautiful innocent creatures. The pond was full of Koi and Tilapia fish. The park authority sells its food for only 10 taka ($.8) to the visitors. We bought a pack and my son fed them. It was an exciting experience.
While my son was playing, I strolled around the flower garden and the pond. It was a relaxed morning and this place made it beautiful. I will share the photos of the flower garden in another post, keep in touch.
As this park is near the house of my hometown so probably we will get to visit this place again on our next visit. I hope they will manage the park properly and people will not ruin it like other places.
Until next time...

You're welcome, I really enjoyed it,❤️
A park with children's play facilities is a plus.
I know, right? They are the best for parents like me to relax and give the kids exciting moments at the same time. :)
I was going to say the same thing as well. I hope it's properly maintained because it looks so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this, and happy New year.🥰
That's the sad reality of many good places in my region. Good to hear that you thought the same.
