Hello, gentle readers. 🍃
I recently visited this charming city and I was fascinated. I can't wait to tell you more about my adventures there.
Join me as we explore some of Baguio’s most iconic attractions.
Stone Kingdom
Where reality and imagination collide. Our tour begins in the Stone Kingdom, a fantastical illusion sculpted out of rock. As soon as we stepped foot in this enchanted environment, it felt like Alice going down the rabbit hole. Stone sculptures, the fine details, like curves in a stone, greeted me at every step. The stones themselves appeared to be whispering stories about extinct societies.
Lion’s Head
A roaring majesty. We afterwards made our way up to Lion's Head, a massive rock structure that resembles a magnificent lion. I felt a rush of courage as I stood there and looked off into the distance. The lion seemed to be saying, "Roar your dreams into existence,"
Camp John Hay
Before me, Camp John Hay unraveled similar to an old-fashioned sepia snapshot. It was formerly a rest and relaxation area for US servicemen, and it now has a golf course, lovely villas, and gardens. I could almost hear the soldiers laughing as I walked along the paths scenting like pine. Every location has a tale to tell, as seen by the historical undertones that persisted in the rustling leaves.
The Mansion
I was astounded by The Mansion's grandeur. Presidents, celebrities, and many other notable persons memories have been made at this famous pink-and-white building. The elegant gates and well-kept grounds gave off the impression of being in a bygone period. I wondered what exchanges had occurred behind those walls and what mysteries the whispering pines concealed.
Wright Park
Having fun and getting to know those renowned Baguio horses. I was immediately taken by their soft eyes and vibrant bridles. The steady clip-clop of hooves as they rode one of the horses reminded me that life is a trip and that sometimes we should take it slow and enjoy the experience.
Mines View
I was looking at the amazing view of green and gold from Mines View. It seemed like a canvas made by the gods, with the far-off mines and terraced mountains. It became clear to me on why people came here, just to dream as the sun sank below the mountain peaks. A clean breeze carried a sense of promise. I wished for purpose, clarity, and the bravery to seek sunsets.
The Bamboo Sanctuary
Our final stop was at the Bamboo Sanctuary a nature's symphony. A secret treasure where bamboo trees swayed in unison. I shut my eyes and allowed the forest to envelop me as the sound of rustling leaves produced a calming rhythm. Time stopped here, and all of my troubles vanished. I whispered my thanks to the bamboo, that strong, flexible, but unbroken plant. It helped me realize that the secret to strength is flexibility.
Baguio left me with a lasting impression with its mist-covered hills and magnificent stone structures. Every location conveyed a tale, and I attentively listened. I took a piece of Baguio with me when I boarded the plane to return home—a stone, a memory, a vow to never stop exploring, dreaming, and howling like a lion on top of the mountain.
