My New Year's Trip to Jodhpur, Ranakpur, and Mount Abu in India

in Worldmappin3 years ago (edited)

Hello people,

Hope you all are doing great. Hope you had a fantastic start to the New Year's. Well, I am also doing great and just like you people, today I am going to share how I spent my New Year's and what awesome I had of my New Year's.

So, we were like 6 people, all family, brothers and sisters, and a one and a half year child. He is my sister's child and calls me aunt. Haha 😅. Overall, it was a fun trip with so many memories collected for the lifetime. 😊

Now, let me start with the beginning of our trip. We all family took a car and a driver and went to the blue city Jodhpur. Reaching there, we first went to explore Mehrangarh Fort, which is the most famous place to see there.

Let me tell you all a little about Mehrangarh Fort. Mehrangarh fort is one of the largest fort in India and was built by Rao Jodha in 1459. The fort is extremely beautiful and known for its out of the world architecture. Also, as we explore through the fort, we get true glimpses of the bygone era and how the then rulers used to live.

Next, we were quite hungry. So we went to the most famous restaurant of Jodhpur and that is the Gypsy Restaurant. We had all types of food there. Hahaa 😂

After that, we did a little site seeing in Jodhpur and then went to a hotel. It was almost night, we all were tired, so we went to sleep. Waking up in the morning, we had to take off to Ranakpur to see the most beautiful and most famous Jain temple there. So, we got ready, took our breakfast, and went ahead. Here is the glimpse of Jain temple which we saw in our journey. It's architecture was mesmerizing and the peace the place was offering could not be described in words.

Our next destination was Mount Abu. There are many places to visit in Mount Abu. We started with Gurushikhar, which is the highest point of the Aravalli range. I have some link of the videos of that place for you all. You can have a look -

Next, we went to Dilwara Jain Temple in Mount Abu.

The architecture of this temple is amazing. And it is a must visit place when in Mount Abu.

Next, we went to the Nakki Lake which was a must because whoever goes to Mount Abu leaves everything but never fails to visit Nakki Lake.

Nakki Lake is the first man-made lake of India. Also, there are several myths and legends associated with it. As per some sources, Gods built this lake to protect themselves from their enemies. Another say that the lake is based on the love story of a sage Rakshiya Balam. Whatever it may be, overall, the lake is amazing, offers splendid views of the nearby areas, gives positive vibes, and also an amazing boating experience.

Last, when we left the place, we took a nice restaurant at the Highway, and had our food. After that, we headed back to our respective place, that is Jaipur. 😊

So, this was all about how I spent my New Year's.
