Eastmoreland neighborhood, Portland

There are so many beautiful flowers and trees in Portland, even in my part of town, as you can see in the view from my balcony:

And lots of people chillin outside at my local brewery

But I thought I would get a little change of scenery with a walk around one of my favorite neighborhoods in Portland: Eastmoreland.

Initially I wanted to stroll around the adjacent Reed College campus, but unfortunately it is closed to the public currently.

The reason I like Reed so much is these old Hogwarts-esque buildings that remind me of the East Coast. I took a couple pics from afar, but we'll have to wait for another day (hopefully soon) when I can give a proper tour.

Eastmoreland is very interesting to me, because the architecture is so varied. You can find a colonial style house, a Spanish villa, a Northwest bungalow, and much more, all on the same block.

There's this great long greenway lined with trees that I love to stroll down as I let my mind wander.

There are so many beautiful gardens and neatly landscaped yards here; it is clear that many of the residents take great pride in their place in the neighborhood.

Bindi and I are both great admirers of moss growing on stone, which you can find a lot of here.

Let's stop and smell the flowers for a minute.

We managed to find a gnome home and some other surprises along the way XD

There is apparently some politics around getting the neighborhood designated as historic. I think they are probably worried about some of these unique older houses getting replaced by new developments.

Well, that's all for today's walk, see you next time :)

That certainly looks like a nice quaint area! I love hitting little shops and stuff.

The houses look nice, seems like a pretty historical section. Reminds me of walking some of the neighborhoods around here.
