Mt. Manalmon is one of the top destination in Bulacan that is very memorable to me. Because of its stunning and easy 2 hours trek , I visited this place twice together with my husband and friends. The beautiful view, the enchanted cave and Madlum River are the highlights of this place.
To get there, you need to ride a bus with signboard Cubao to Cananatuan. No need to reach the Cabanatuan bound, just tell the conductor that you are about to go to San Miguel Bulacan. From there, 1 ride tricycle from the Market to Barangay Madlum where the Mt Manalmon is located. In total of 2 to 3 hours you will be able to reach this amazing Mountain awaits to you.
In Madlum River, trekkers are allowed to swim. Ofcourse no additional fee. One thing that you need to follow is to leave the river clean the way you see it. You need to carry your own garbage and put it in a trash can. Respecting our Nature is the top responsibility of any individual not just only the mountaineers. If you are in a river, mountain or just simply in a park respecting the place by maintaining its cleanliness is a must. If you want to experience a nature and cool relaxing feeling, come and go to Madlum River.
I also got to experienced the Monkey Bridge the first time I am in Mt Manalmon. It was a very shocking feeling wherein I am really nervous and can’t explain if I decided to do it or not. All I know is that I was dare to do so, walking in a thin rope on top of the river and if you miss to step in a wrong way, you will fall down directly into the river. After all, I know how to swim so there’s nothing wrong in trying.
I also tried entering the narrow, dark and rocky cave. At first, I am scared because of its darkness and scary feeling, but in the end I conquer my fear and I knew that I am not alone since I am with my husband and friends. I just enjoyed the day hike and make the most out of it.
It is true that climbing a mountain is difficult, but when you reach the summit or the top part of the mountain, every sweat, tiredness and dirty body you’ve experienced does not matter, the fulfillment is priceless. What matters is you did it. Despite of a difficult and rocky trail, the awesome view awaits you at the top is really one of a kind.
At the end of the day, we felt tired and all I want is to clean my body and things and sleep comfortably in my bed. But the memories I have experienced in this place is too much rewarding. I have seen how beauty is our nature and how you are being proud to tell to everybody that you manage to climb in the mountain, go accross the river and passed through the cave. It is a fun yet challenging hike.
Let’s enjoy the beauty of nature.
