Torpak Boat Noodle - a place that only locals know about

in Worldmappin β€’ 18 hours ago (edited)

Today I want to tell you about a wonderful place with delicious and inexpensive
Thai food!

  • Torpak Boat Noodle (I'll leave the dot on worldmappin.com).

I'll say right away: we visit this cafe very often, especially at lunchtime, for the last three years. The establishment is aimed at locals, and you rarely meet foreigners here β€” most likely, because of its not very convenient location. It is located away from tourist routes and looks rather inconspicuous from the road. Even a small sign attached to the nearest pole is written only in Thai.

But despite this, at lunchtime and especially on weekends, it is completely packed! This is the very place that does not need advertising β€” just try the food once, and you will want to come back again. We ourselves found out about it on a recommendation and now we are telling our friends.

I did not plan to specifically review this place, so all the photos were taken on a phone.

πŸ“ Information about the cafe

  • ⏰ Open daily from 9:30 to 18:00.
  • 🍜 Main menu: soups with different types of meat and noodles + various Thai salads.
  • πŸ’΅ Average bill: 100–200 ΰΈΏ (~3–6 $).
  • πŸ› You can order takeaway.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ About the owner

I would especially like to tell you about the owner of the establishment. She has Chinese roots, and despite her age, she is incredibly energetic and friendly. She not only manages the process, but also actively participates in the work: she helps in the kitchen, monitors order and even takes orders herself if she sees that the staff is running out of time. In the photo, you can see her at the cash register.

I believe that this is the approach that allows us to keep the level of the establishment at a high level. When the owner is personally involved in all processes, the cafe works like clockwork.

🏑 Atmosphere and interior

  • Open kitchen β€” always perfectly clean.
  • Spacious hall β€” large distances between tables, high ceiling.
  • Traditional decor β€” wicker elements, lots of greenery.
  • Mini waterfall at the entrance β€” creates a pleasant atmosphere.
  • Donation box for orphans β€” a good initiative from the owners.

🍽 Our order

This time I took fried rice with chicken, and my wife β€” chicken soup with crystal noodles. Soy sprouts and fresh herbs are served with the soup, which you can take in unlimited quantities.

For dessert, we tried an unknown fruit, which is served in a bowl of ice water, as well as my favorite coconut ice cream with incredibly tasty nuts.

πŸ”₯ Result

The price-quality ratio here is top notch. If you are in Pattaya, be sure to visit this Thai cafe - it will definitely not disappoint you!
For all the dishes we paid 234 ΰΈΏ (7$) - excellent!!!

πŸ’‘ By the way, I saw a banana flower in the backyard. The owner told me that it is also used in cooking. Now I have a goal - to try a dish with this unusual ingredient.

Of course this is a very beautiful moment, delicious food my brother

thanks bro πŸ‘Š

The view and the green around the place makes it look like a Thai restaurant. I think it's a clean looking place, although it looks quite small from the outside. That's some appealing dishes right there.

@tipu curate

You noticed correctly - many cafes in Thailand are not always clean, but this place is always well-kept, just look into the kitchen and everything becomes clear. It is perfectly clean, pots and plates are polished to a shine.

Khao man gai ❀️ I often eat it. Love its sauce (ginger-chili-garlic normally).

)) 🀀 Yes, I often ask the owner of the establishment and she puts it on my plate to take with me - it goes well with many dishes.
By the way, I saw that she always makes it herself in a large mortar, she makes it simply extraordinary! πŸ‘

What a lovely traditional place and the noodles looks super πŸ’•πŸ’―πŸ’•
