Hello everyone!
I just had a Lunar New Year holiday with my family. Sorry, this time because there are no posts on the hive for a long time.
My previous post was about Ha Giang a wonderful place. Today I will take you to a land that to me is as beautiful as in the fairy tales.
This place is a province next to Ha Giang to the east, also the next destination in my journey, you can check out my previous post here.
Cao Bang is a northern border province of Vietnam, bordering Guangxi - China. This place is 90% mountainous.
Riding a motorbike from Ha Giang to Cao Bang is quite a long and dangerous journey. With continuously steep and extremely dangerous roads.
Because I only have 1 day time here, so I can't explore this beautiful land. So I just recommend to everyone the places that I have been to.
God's Eye Mountain
My first destination was Mat Than mountain, also known as "Phja Piot" (in Tay language means "perforated mountain") in Tra Linh district. The mountain has a strange shape like the eye of a god, associated with many myths of the indigenous people.
The mountain is located in a complex of limestone mountains intertwined with grasslands like smooth green steppes.
Horses grazing on the prairie gave me the feeling that the distance between earth and sky had never been so close.
In addition to being amazed by the beauty that nature has bestowed on this land, you will be surprised by many stories when talking with the indigenous people.
Ban Gioc Waterfall
Next in my journey is Ban Gioc waterfall. It can be said that this is a must-go destination if you have the opportunity to set foot in Cao Bang.
Located on the border of Vietnam - China, Ban Gioc waterfall is one of the 4 largest transnational waterfalls in the world, its beauty and popularity are not only in Vietnam but also an attractive destination for many tourists. international.
Because it is located right on the demarcation line, both Vietnam and China exploit tourism here. Most of the waterfall falls under the management of Vietnam, including the secondary waterfall called the high waterfall and the main watethe rfall called the low waterfall, both of which are collectively known as Ban Gioc waterfall. The Chinese side is called Ban Uoc waterfall.
Ban Gioc Waterfall is not too high but flows into many layers creating the unique beauty of one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam.
I went in the low water season, so the waterfall was not too fierce, instead, it was calm and peaceful. The water is gentle, the surrounding is a cool blue.
Next to the waterfall is a landmark marking Vietnam's territorial sovereignty (the Chinese side also has a similar one).
Nguom Ngao Cave
Leaving Ban Gioc waterfall, I stopped at Nguom Ngao cave, 3km away. This is a limestone cave that was formed about 300 million years ago. "Nguom Ngao" in the Tay language means "Hang Tiger" because according to ancient legends, this is the habitat of fierce tigers; Some people also say that the sound of wind and water flowing in the cave sounds like the roar of a tiger, so it is named "Hang Tiger".
Nguom Ngao Cave is extremely large with a length of 2144m. With a system of unique stalactites with many strange shapes, anyone will feel overwhelmed by the magnificent scenery of the Creator.
The air in the cave is also quite cold compared to the outside, so if you have the opportunity to come here, please wear warm clothes. The cave is also very wet and slippery, so be careful.
One day is not enough to go all the way to Cao Bang, but since I have to return to Hanoi in time for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City, I have to finish the nearly 5000km journey by motorbike around the country and make another appointment to come back and explore more. more, because there are many beautiful places that I have not visited yet.
If you have the opportunity, pack your bags and come to Cao Bang to admire the beauty that the Creator has bestowed on this land.
Thank you for reading my post and have a great week ahead.
